Local elections & the effect on Enfield Town FC

I'm not a Tory but I was pleased to read Enfield Southgate MP, David Burrowes' View from Westminster piece in the Gazette this week. He mentioned Enfield Town Football Club and the importance of us finding our permanent home in Enfield.

 

Top marks Mr. Burrowes - I hope we'll see you down at Goldsdown Road sometime next season if you get a chance.

Unfortunately neither brimsdown nor central Enfield are in his constituency. Neither do councils take much notice of MP's anyway, as a rule.

All three ward councillors lost their seats in and around Brimmo, even the elected Mayor, Bill Price.

It must have been a quiet week for news at Westminster? But the support for the club from both our MP's of both parties is very welcome! Good to see political parties agreeing on Enfield Town FC even if they agree on little else.

Local MPs may support ETFC but it is the local Council that we need on our side.
