Conspiracy Theory? Me?

>>Trevor England
I really dont know why I bother but,
The badge on the town shirt is an Enfield apparently it is a mythical greek or roman monster. You can see a metal representation outside the Enfield Civic Centre.
The arms for Middlesex are three scimitars as any follower of cricket would know.
And btw - this message board is on the internet and as such the whole world has access to it and to your rantings. If you want a private board you will have to organise one amongst your clique - trouble is it will be very small and you will get no support from outsiders.
As for the rest of your post.
Just how long have you been an ostrich.
>>True Saint
That is an apt nick - you are indeed a true saint and the club and you deserve each other.

To answer your points one by one, Steph:
1. We've received message of support from the following clubs - Gravesend, Chesham, Canvey, Billericay, Enfield, Enfield Town, Forest Green Rovers & Hitchin Town, amongst others, for which we are very grateful.
2. Thank you very much for the history lesson on your club's badge. Enfield Civic Centre is a place I'll be adding my list of "places I must visit" - right after Berlin, Tokyo, Venice, New Orleans & Goa. I must be wholly incorrect in thinking that Enfield is in Middlesex, rather than Essex. Really, this is absolutely, completely and utterly the very very very last thing on my mind right now.
3. Believe it or not, us country folk are aware that the internet is a world wide web. It's not all donkeys, hand-carts and inbreeding round here, you know. Presumably, you won't mind if we all cover your club's messageboard slagging off your club, spouting incoherent rants masquerading as what may, in an asylum, pass for reasoned argument.
4. Interesting to see how you gloss over the sections of my argument to which you have no answer. From a rough calculation, the reformed/reconstituted clubs in your list are now all two divisions lower than they might have expected or reasonably hoped to be (this, if you read back, was the crux of my original argument). It applies to all of them, with the exception of Bedford, who took 12 years to get to what they might think of as their "true level" - and they're struggling to stay in it. If we take that as the biggest success you mentioned... I'll be pushing 40 by then. Like I said before - it's more crowded at the bottom than at the top, and while we have a 1000/1 chance of staying where we are, we'll fight for it.
5. That's about as much as I can be bothered to manage. For further information on what's happening to this club, keep an eye on the web site. As GHA mentioned before, we all know considerably less than half the story behind what's going on with our club at the moment. I can't be doing with arguing with Enfield Town supporters any more. Feel free to carry on posting, but I'll be exercising my right to ignore you.

As an Enfield Town fan, I wish you all the best. I wish we hadn't had to drop several divisions but we decided it was in our better interest to do so than to stay where we were. We decided that because of the circumstances surrounding our club. That isn't to say it always the best thing to do and, without knowing all the ins and outs of what has happened at St Albans I don't think supporters of my club should be saying that you must got down the same road. However, if it does all go horribly wrong and you do find yourselves trying to start afresh then it would make sense to talk to those clubs which have done the same (such as Enfield Town and Aldershot Town). There are also clubs which have been taken over by the supporters and managed to stay in the same league and division they were in to start with. Bournemouth and Chesterfield spring to mind. They may be able to give you some help in doing just that.
A note for Steph: The IR office in St Albans is a local office and no more a main one than the one in Winchmore Hill. The CVA stuff would have come from the Enforcement Office in Worthing.
A note for AFF: Steph is a bloke. Do you still like him?

Thank you for the support, Cyclops...
Honestly, that was all I was trying to say! I'm sure that, if offered, ETFC would have bitten the hands off anyone offering them a place in the Ryman Premier & their own (Conference standard) ground for this season. That's what we're hoping for. Rest assured - should it all go **** up this year, we'll be grateful for all the information we can get on how to reform. We'll also be looking for information on how to get to Hanwell, Holmer Green, New Bradwell St Peter (is that one place or two?) and Somersett Ambury. London Colney shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Hi Cyclops.
As far as Syephanie is concerned, what does he call himself during the week? I take the view that what people do in the privacy of their omn homes is up to them. Dig with the other foot. Wear womens' clothes. None of my business. So long as they don't try to put their hand on my knee.
No, his penchant for cross-dressing doesn't affect the level of 'like'.
I wasn't impressed with his comment "As far as I am aware, Lee did his best for the Club but didn't get any help from the fans" or some such. His level of awareness comes from only one source.
You er...err...guys at Brimsdown Rovers will learn in due course.
Thanks from me for your support, too, Cyclops. We have heard from the Beimsdown Rovers fan with sense, Just like most of my good ideas, someone thoughy of it first.

No, his penchant for cross-dressing doesn't affect the level of 'like'.

Why don't you have a go at him for being black as well? OK, he's white, but he isn't a cross-dresser or transvestite either. Yes, I know he got your back up and I agree that what he said was not helpful but your comments above, if taken as representative, do not show your club's supporters in a good light.

quote:
Originally posted by AFF:

So you are thanking me and trying to insult me at the same time. Great. OK, I quite like Brimsdown Rovers because they were good enough to let us have use of, first, a club bar so that we have some sort of social side, and then the pitch so that we have somewhere to play. However, I am not a member of Brimsdown Rovers and I am not a fan. And as for Lee Harding, he is not Chairman of the club but, as far as I know, just another bod on a committee. Some of us remember him as an Enfield fan of many years' standing and he still has a number of friends and acquaintances from that time. As most of them have decided to follow Enfield Town rather than stay with Enfield FC he's less likely to go looking for them at Meadow Park.

Uh oh Cyclops. You've gone and done it now. You've taken a light-hearted post by AFF 200% worse than you were supposed to take it, and responded in due course. But to add insult to injury, you called him a B. Wood fan. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Now boys!
You should stop thinking with testosterone coursing through your bodies and start thinking with the thing between your ears.
You spend so much time making enemies on this board that you cant recognise friends. You have taken your eyes of the ball.
It matters not one jot whether I call myself Stephanie, Steph, Stephen or Stephan, I have been called a hell of a lot worse in my years!
It doesn't matter whether I am green, grey, pink or black.
It doesn't matter whether I am gay, straight, a peadophile or whatever my fetish is.
What does matter is that you want to save St Albans and all that any ETFC, Hendon supporter or other poster on this board has offered is support and all you can do is bite their head off. None of us brought your club to this level.
There now appears to be a buyer in the wings, perhaps from Chesham - well if it is from Chesham that buyer makes a nice profit from the bar there and I reckon he is looking at the profit he can make from the bar at St Albans after all Chesham dont ever seem to make it do they? They won the Ryman and were too scared of going into the conference. Not much ambition there then is there?
Think about it - reading the posts it seems to me that the debt that has to be worried about is the 45000 owed to the revenue. That is a lot of money for one person but for 100 all putting in £500 it is paid. Well £500 is a lot of bread but 100 agreeing to contribute £50 a month would meet the bill or 200 paying £25 would meet it.
It is no good looking for a rich millionaire to come in they are few and far between and, when they try, like Lee, they often find that the supporters wont do that, they wont support them but expect the millionaire to do it all themselves.
Well as Wimbledon found rich millionaires get bored or figure they can go elsewhere where they will be appreciated. They sell up, take their profit and go. In the meantime they milk the adoration or opprobrium of the fans. Look at Jim Ellis at Aston Villa. He has pulled that club up from the confines of the second division and what do the fans do they always demand more.
Well get off your arses and put your hands in your pocket and save your club then when you've grown up you can look back and say that you have supported the club through thick and thin and be proud of that rather than get your rocks off making enemies on this board.

Keep sprouting the cr*p you are spouting Steph, and people will start thinking you are another Harding alias. It wouldn't be the first time he has used the alias of a girl, or used a girl's name. And what with you trying to defend the extent of his damage left, right and centre. And the fact you want the supporters to pay him money. And that you support Enfield Town. And that you often go and watch Enfield Town down t'bunker. And that you have had to go to the IR offices in St. Albans. The minds of the people on this board tend to roam a bit.

Hmnn.
Cyclops. Cy. Calm down. No he hasn't got my back up. My sense of humour, I'm afraid. And I was beginning to quite like you. Your first posting on here was simple common sense. You didn't comment upon something you know nothing about. You simply said look at the alternative forms of Trust as a long term solution. Quite right too.
I hope I didn't touch a nerve about that which cannot be named.
Steph. I think that you spotted that it wasn't to be taken seriously. I'm beginning to worry about Cy. Do you think he's all right?
Now Steph. There you go again. Who told you that the Revenue debt is £45,000? How many millionaires do you know? I know a few, but I don't think that you know any that I know, and vice [if you'll pardon that word] versa.
