Puddle of luck turns into puddle of despair

I would like to take this opportunity to take full responsibility for our loss yesterday. During the first half, I managed to discover the only puddle in the ground - and it turned out to be a lucky puddle as we were ahead within the first 5 minutes. Therefore, I stayed in this puddle for the rest of the first half where we managed to keep ourselves 1-0 up.

Then it went to pot, as there were no puddles at the other end of the ground.

I've suddenly realised that one of the Wivenhoe fans was probably standing in the puddle when they got their equaliser.

And then during extra time, I decided to stay under the cover behind the goal (to chat with Chopper and the Wivenhoe fans) when I could've easily walked round and stood in my puddle.

And then we conceded twice.

I apologise, most sincerely.

On a alightly more serious note, well done to Jim and the boys - so close yet so far. But a lot closer than we were ever expecting! Roll on next season, keep the faith.

Was a pleasure meeting you Paul, though next season could be a little awkward as I'm joining the Army on July 12th. The first three months are basic training so I'll only be granted a limited amount of leave, so I will probably miss the start of the season. But when my second phase training begins, I'll be allowed to come home at the weekends, and I'll be back behind the goal before anyone realises!

So Robson, which Battalion has Town adopted then?

I'll be in the Royal Medical Corps, training to be a Combat Medical Technician. Basically, I'll be the medic on the frontline providing the medical aid to any Soldier (friend or foe) who has been wounded. Killing people doesn't paticularly appeal to me, but I'll still be a soldier first - it's just that I get given a medical bag to carry along with my rifle.

Looking forward to the basic training already, got a couple of mates in the forces and they couldn't recommend it highly enough.

I had a mate that had the same role in the first gulf war. All round good person! Every good wish and look after yourself.

I dont believe that, not that someone in the gulf war is a good person but that you have a mate!!

Well I'm rather pleased that the new Arsenal player Walcott is going to the World Cup cos Arsenal will have to pay more fees to Southampton as soon as he plays for England!

I think you will find the payments kick in at 20 England games.....ie by the time he is 18 and STILL playing in the Gooners Res team !

Funny how Mr Wenger did not want the England job but is very fast in recommending his Players to England.
A Player that HE does not want to pick to represent the Gooner Team !
Strange or wot ?

There are a lot of strange things about this England squad!

Injured players picked.... players that have been injured and are just back or coming back... players that are NOT picked because they're injured... players that have never played in the Premiership and the England coach has never seen play..... players just back from injury, off form and apparently with personal issues......the top English scorer not picked..... players that the world will collapse with laughter at when they see him (no names but very tall).

Frankly I think either the old boy has totally lost the plot, or Someone Somewhere Is Up To Something.
