Let down at Home............again

Recommended Posts

Town got what they deserved today......nothing.

We played without passion or spirit and could not come up with an answer to the Wivenhoe tactics of the high long ball ( which worked for them ).

The expectation of promotion has been built up due mainly by our away form ( only 3 lost ) being the best in the League.

However at Home we have been below acceptable standards and dropped 28 points. A difficult position to come from.

There have been some poor results at home ...say Berko for example...and then the last few weeks of the season has ust been too much.

Supporters will look at a poor Management decision which cost us a win at Rothwell and it seems to have gone wrong from there.

On reflection, perhaps promotion would have been a step too far too soon.

It shows the numbness the result has caused by the lack of posts. Once again the home game let us down. Brimmo' has to become a fortress if we are to gain promotion next season preferably as champions. When you you look at the league table our home form was more like that of a team in the middle part of the division. We also need to see off teams rather than hang on to a one goal advantage.

It's obvious we some changes in personnel like someone who can score 25 goals plus a season. Someone like either Gary Abbott, John Connell or someone in that mold. JC has going to have a lot of work to do during the close season including looking back at his tatics during this season. Maybe we need someone to go looking at our opponents to find where their strengths and weaknesses are. I know I do not come to games and rely on everone's posts here.

All I am trying to do is promote some comments for discussion.

I think the thing is that the players seem to have lost confidence and sometimes also lost discipline. I dont believe for one minute that they did not have enough passion and i also think that Town have a really strong squad and good manager.

I think too often players overreact to bad decisons by refs when they should just concentrate on the game. I also think sometimes the nervousness and frustation of the best supporters in the league got thru to the players.
