Regarding the players and tactics.I personally feel it was a mistake to bring Adam Gant back into the defence.I feel that Hannigan and Allen had built up a good partnership and we were winning games regulary. We would have been better served by adding an extra midfield player or going three up top.

Brotherton and Baldwin were two great squad palyers and it was a shame to lose them.Woodward should have been used every game instead of stuck on the bench.I would have like to see him as an orthadox left winger,in front of Negus or Baldwin.

I hope Chopper and the management sort their differences out and that he is a regular next season.I Think the midfield is sound with Velendia,Stevens,Hall,Penn.(A special mention for Russel Penn yesterday who showed more stamina and running than any other player, even though he has hardly played in the last six weeks.).

Upfront:If we are going to persist with Hammett. He must be partnered by a big strong targetman.Dissapointed with Ritchies play and demeaner on the pitch over the last three or four games.A month previous he was on fire.

Agree re Chopper. However, Hammett has had his chance. Him and Trevor came in on the back of great reputations and have failed to deliver. Hope Smithy gets more opportunities next season and yes, a big target man is essential.

We only need to watch the European Cup final to see that every side needs a big target man up front like Arsenal's.... bad choice they dont play that way or Barcelona's...Ah! I think that I had better leave it there.

i have to question the tactics over the past month or so. we had played 4-4-2 for most of the season this working very well in most games, then towards the end of the season reverted to 3-5-2 or more 5-3-2.For a team puhing for promotion i find it hard to believe that we use more of a defensive tactic in the final part of the season.

This left us very exposed when facing teams using 4-4-2 as they would attack down both flanks with the over lapping full backs leaving our attacking wing backs (campbell & negus) epxposed facing 2 on 1 on many occasions.

The final questionable tactic was that of taking campbell off and bringing on valendia. Not only was chopper seemingly struggling after 2 injuries you would of thought that pc would have gone in goal but as soon as pc came off valendia went into centre midfield leaving a huge gap at right full back and with no right winger it was inevitable that wivenhoe scored there 2 extra time goals from play down the town right.

Thats what I meant about others fearing us and not us fearing them.

Si Senor. I am Meester Appy for the next couple of weeks. I come from Barcelona!!!

But I thought that the 'NEW SPURS WAY' is that everything has to be ENGLISH and claiming to support a spanish team goes against this or is it as much rubbish as only wanting to win the spurs way has proved to be?

A single win against Boreham Wood or two draws against them would have been enough to see us promoted automatically. It is easy to look back on the season and find situations that look like the crucial points of the season. For me, the two games against BW are without doubt the matches that decided it. If the full-strength team had turned up home and away for these crucial fixtures then I’m sure we could have gained at least a point from the two games which would have left us celebrating the 2nd spot.

Obviously.Spurs are supporting Barcelona in order to gain our rightful place in the champions league (if we finish fourth).

Anyway,i fully supported the English contingent on the pitch during the Villarreal game.I cheered that Squirel ,as much as the next man.

Ps..And before anyone say the squirels got more European experience than the Spurs team.I've already heard it.

"Turned up" ? Do you mean "match fit"?
Or are you trying to say something else Duke?

I thought we were the better team in the away fixture at the wood, but for some inept finishing by our strikers & a herculian effort in goal by Ken (what happened to him after that match? another player that appeared to be treated apallingly!) we deserved a point, however home performances against the likes of Berko & Aveley mean we got exactly what we deserved, no excuses, simple as that!

DoY.

The season cannot be won or lost on two games against the Wood.

There is a long list of "lost points" with 28 going down at home and then the last four matches starting at Rothwell were the Management got the substitution totally wrong.

Normally you can look at the League and say that your final position is where you deserved to end up.

If you look at The Wood - they were awful towards the end but had enough from there great start.

If you look at Corby they were average until that amazing run of the last 9 games winning 8 and not letting in a single goal.

As said before, perhaps our first season at this level was a great learning experience and IF we had gone up it may have been a step too far.

Next season could be our one for promotion with Players that have a bit more experience at this level. PLUS I hope we have a new forward who is a regular goal scorer !
