Looks like were going to have the majoirty of the squad that we had this season with maybe one or two departures and two or three arrivals (plus any gems we maybe find in pre-season trials maybe).

 

Just thinking what we need. I'd probably say an experienced goalkeeper, a centre back, a genuine winger and a striker.

 

Be interesting to see who Eddie had in mind, but said he was looking to bring them in very soon.

 

Would not be suprised if one of them is Jamie Brooks if he's released over the summer by Oxford, as Eddie is clearly a big fan.

Assuming Parkin is leaving, and I hope he doesn't - we'll need 2 goalkeepers, preferably one with a fair amount of experience behind him.

 

I reckon we need two centre-backs, and when it comes to the wings, it really depends on what Eddie wants to do with Carbon and Woodruffe - I've never seen either as out-and-out defenders, they need to be tearing up and down the wings. We also need at least one striker.

I want Parky to stay and then perhaps look for a reserve keeper to back him up.

 

At the back it depends what formation we are going to play - if we are going to 3 centre backs we need to sign one or two if a flat back four we could do with one centre half and a full back.

 

I think central midfield is sorted.

 

Another striker at least is required.

I know this as got nothing to do with football, but i read on the Maidenhead site that they think there is a 20% chance of them staying in Con/South.

Speaking with Roy Saturday he seemed pretty convinced nobody would go down as there are about 5 teams in Conf National/South in big trouble struggling to survive.

one season maybe i can understand but you cannot allow the same club to survive because of 2 teams demise, its just not fair.

Think we will lose a good few players and agree with chris that getting Jamie Brooks back would be a great boost.

Would he come to us or would he go to Brackley? They were quite keen on a few of the players who did eventually come to us and of course the goal machine Matt Murphy. Ballard, Mason & McCleary I think were all linked and Ballard & G actually played for them in one of their pre-season games.

 

Even if we did get him though, think we'd need at least one more as G will go pro this summer, which would leave us with Hodgey and Brooks - presuming the former stayed and we managed to get hold of the latter - and no backup.

..............but is there any news on where we will be playing next season.. I remember that the hope was that we would know for sure before the season ended last weekend.

Think at the moment the club is waiting to decide which league we are going to be in, as this will effect how much money will be left in terms of transport and for rent.
