I have to say i was extremely dissapointed with the turn out today.

The day was very good and I enjoyed it. Was a disappointing turnout although I hope the money raised through the auction goes some way to making up for that.

About the same attendance as for or last home game I thought.700ish.I was expecting double that.Big shame.Nice to see so many "older" faces out there.Sodje coming on gave us all a little light entertainment.JK must have been dribbling with excitement at seeing his hero again.I didnt realise just how tall Steve Bennet was.I can see why he wouldnt get intimidated too much.Nice of him to offer his services yesterday.

Cookie I thought there was around 500 there. It didnt look more to me than some of our more poorly supported league games this season. I thought it was quite a lot busier for the Hendon game.

Just remember how I get things wrong occasionally however I did think in this instance that there was a similar crowd to Saturday.Others commented on that also.Dosent make us right though.I also notice that Wellsie mentions 500 ish too. Suppose he should know. Even so we shall have to agree to disagree on that one I think.Was a good turn out, though still a disappointing one I feel.

To be honest, Greenie and I thought initially that we would get around 500 but were "spoked" by a coulpe of people we spoke to about the possibility of there bring a much bigger crowd. We herefore put things in place to take account of that possibility. Having said all that, the key thing was of course to get that sort of selection of players on the pitch paying tribute to Paul. I know that Carly had a great if emotional day.

 

As a Maragte fan I was really pleased with "our" turn out - and there were fans from lots of other clubs in the county as well. I said it on my update (another thread), but thanks to the Margate fans. Greenie and I were very happy with the day.

We'l be giving some detail around what we rasied, there are some items that arrived during the day that we will be looking to raise other money through (e.g. another auction) and we will shortly have a picture gallery from yeaterday up on the website.
