HKS. You've obviously never seen me play in goal with no hands, have you??

Back to the point. Sparrow said that he (she??) would be more willing to pay £1 for a raffle ticket if the entrance ticket was £1 less. So. A few ideas. Are they feasible?

£7 entry, plus a £1 raffle (Thus an £8 ticket and free raffle, given out at the turnstile). Or £10 for a entry, programme and raffle ticket (all given out at the turnstile).

A family ticket (2 parents, 2 children) at £15 (for example).

How about sponsoring the goalden goal? Tickets are drawn as they always are, but 90 people sponsor a goal time at £x per week. If their goal is drawn, they win £xx??

Put Colin Thorns a roving mic as well.

And play GHA up front (or maybe just in goal) against Aldersh#t.

Hi HKS.

I don't know anything about football so forgive me if this is a silly question.

Why don't the Reserves train with the 1st Team?

The two chaps who run the Reserves could always take their lads aside to do something else, a few press-ups or something, for that part of the session when The Duo are honing the 1st Team's skills at the long ball game.

Oh, by the way. This is an interesting thread about The Chairman's comments in respect of the financial position of The Club and there have been a number of comments concerning the question of bottoms on seats. The Reserves, an interesting issue in itself, might have been better discussed on a different thread.

How do we do in comparison to other clubs in our league for crowd numbers?

Personally I think there are so many factors against us. Particulary population demographics.

We are surrounded by (you know what I mean) bigger clubs that are easy to get to.

Entertainment is another key factor, for numbers to rise over the regulars. Final thought re attendances is PUBLICITY (hint hint).

I think you are totally right Sparrow! the game yesterday was crap! Lee was annoying Migs and then Stafford was getting annoyed because migs was not trying. It was very embarrasing to see St.Albans play in that way! I think i can wait until Aldershot.

A separate thread for the reserves? Interesting.

Someone raised the point yesterday that our average attendance over the season so far at home is over 500. Therefore, doesn't that mean we should be within the budget. Unless the budget is for an average crowd of >600.

Hi Rob and GHA.

If you read The Chairman's comments carefully, he refers to paying spectators. I think you will find that the 'official' attendance figure includes non-paying punters: visiting officials, complimentary tickets, etc. as well as a number of people who, I suspect, don't pay to get in to the ground on account of their official duties.

I sometimes think that it includes both teams, too, particularly when my prediction is 22 lower than the official figure.

So Sparrow is saying take a pound of the admission and he'll spend it on the raffle. The total sum earned by the club is the same in both cases.

Personally, I only do the raffle to support those that do it, I find it irritating to have two or three different people continually asking me for a pound. The prizes could be varied a bit, not everyone likes Whiskey.
