It might be more fun if they worked out world cup qualifying groups on the basis of the country's shape, rather than geographical proximity.

 

Chile, Malaya and Argentine is quite a good group. You'd have Vietnam in there too. Italy must be getting close, as a whole group for boot shaped nations would be just silly. I think Croatia is pretty long too, but it does bend round a bit. Or is that Slovenia?

 

If we are sort of triangular we would be in with Tasmania I suppose. Not sure who else, probably some obscure European duchys and things, like Lichenstein. Or Wales could get in on the grounds of being two triangles.
