I Hate to say "I told you so" but "I told you so" !

So here we are at the end of a season where we turned professional, continued with a full time manager etc etc and where are we ?????????

I will tell you:

1. Club further in the RED

2. No better league position than when part time

3. Worrying about losing to Bromley in the KSC Final and then losing with no grace !

4. Mr Daish still giving radio interviews that make us all cringe with embarrassment with his lack of command of the English language and lack of being able to say anything that even resembles someone who knows anything about the game of football (but the players are "an honest bunch of lads" )

5. A star striker who indeed, as predicted by me in August, is superb but a toal "sicknote" that will miss as many games as he plays and thus of no use to us!

6. Squad budget totally [****!!****]-eyed, with players indeed on huge wages that in turn, doesn't allow any depth of cover in squad, resulting in either continual loan players or boys being needed to fill the teamsheet with.

............... I could go on and on and have been reading the forum with interest over the past two months as more and more people seem to have drifted towards my thoughts at the beginning of the season.

So to summarise, it gives no pleasure in saying this but "I told you so"

I now await the onslaught from you all <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Some fair points, RR, but a bit of judicious editing on your part - you've left out some crucial predictions such as the one where we'd also be relegated.

So not 100% right... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

No onslaught from me RR.

Sadly most if not all of what has been said has proved to be correct. Much like most of what I have said too. I have however refrained from making the comment "I told you so" because probably like you, I wish I hadn't been proved right.

I am sure you will get your expected onslaught from those that wear the rose tinted glasses though.

Its dissapointing to see all of this on the forums over the past few months. I refrain from commenting as Since christmass I have missed nearly all the games. (apart from Borehamwood, woking, shots, Grays, and I'll be at Burton) So in reality I have missed the real decline. I thought before that we were doing alright. Hard to say whether I want daish in charge or not...

I fully admit that I await next season with unease, following the decline in gates, the coded mesage in Roly's article about us operating on a Conference South budget & the rumours flying around Hayes Lane last night.

However, I remain majorly p*ssed off by the assertions of the likes of WVN, FF & RR that they are the fecking victims on this forum. Jaysus, it makes me want to puke. You guys are the most aggressive, assertive, self-opinionated bunch of know-alls I have ever come across in my entire life. You are the ones who jump down people's throats & dish out the contempt, not those of us who try & maintain some perspective.

You are entitled to your views, but for feck's sake stop portraying yourselves as victims of an organized army of rose tinted spectacle wearing thought police; it's pathetic.

By the way, FF & WVN have admitted they weren't at last night's game. Were you, RR?

Thanks for the that, as though I give a flying **** what you think.
I can actually see what AFF means about this forum,
we're all expected to declare all is well when it's clearly not!

All season long, we've slagged off Daish on and off.
Personally I think we were right to do so.
I still maintain the bloke is tactically inept, too inexperienced and is basically taking the club backwards.
If relegation follows, it'll be many years before again before Gravesend recover.

BTW, defeat against Burton will mean not even getting the meagre 5 points I predicted for the last 8 games.

Rumours of the club on the verge of bankruptcy - where are the club to confirm or deny this? WELL???

Oh yes - the usual deafening silence.

Have to disagree that we the fans are not victims.
It has been purgatory watching Fleet at times this year. What used to to be fun and entertaining, is now watched out of a sense of duty and loyalty.
But wake up up to the reality, we are back down the the hard core of 700 fans, and even that is diminishing.

At what point will the most biased supporter say "enough is enough"?

Unless there is a major cash injection into the club in the summer, together with a number of quality signings, the club could freefall into meltdown, with spiralling costs, tumbling gates and a relegation battle.

I am not saying this WILL happen, but even you must admit this scenario is highly feasable.

It has been depressing reading the reports of performances of the team in the latter stages of the season, and with the general despondency expressed on this forum coupled with friends of mine who have been to the games being pretty concerned overall.

My overall feeing is there is no smoke without fire, and listening to LD being interviewed is hardly an inspiring experience, now you can't criticise a man if he is not good at expressing himself in the media but it does make you wonder what kind of impression he gives to the players.

Having heard the interviews it makes me wonder what on earth BK saw in the man in the first place, I fear for next season and I now firmly believe we have the wrong man in the managers seat.

Charlie's injury problems have been a real frustration, but I'd rather have a striker who misses half the season and scores 14 goals for us than one who plays the whole season and doesn't manage that (i.e. most of the other forwards we've had at Stonebridge Road since rejoining the Conference). 'No use to us' is putting it rather crassly, don't you think?

Probably cause he's Irish and BK thought it would look good having a former Irish international in charge??

(By the way I use the term 'in charge' very loosely)

Totally disheartened, fed-up, and bored. I shan't be going this afternoon either.

I've got more important and interesting things to do then spending £12 watching a football match that means nothing to anybody that will be involved, particularly many of the 'Fleet players.

I've had enough of spending good money and watching the absolute 'garbage' that has been served up by the 'Fleet, particularly since Christmas. As an apology to the clubs supporters perhaps the club could have made a gesture to the supporters and allowed free admission, or certainly reduced admission, for the last game of the season?

The sad thing is that unless things change dramatically pre-season, I may well have watched my last 'Fleet match after 44 years of following and supporting the club.

Must say we are in two minds here to attend the match today or not.

Our chain of thought is turn up, maybe watch us win and walk away from the season with at least some hope,or get thrashed and think nothing new, and be dispondent until next season.

There again I can stay at home watch Chelsea play Man U through to the conclusion.

There again do i want to see two sides diving all over the place, trying to get each other sent off. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

The choices are endless.

We may well of lost on Thursday, but it was nice to attend a lower leauge game, That had some atmosphere.I feel that the Fleet games of late have been void of any passion on or off the pitch,From players and punters alike.

The lads who try do there singing bit,Sing for about the first 5 minutes then go very quiet.

In there defence on Thursday they tried really hard concidering the amount of barracking they were getting.

Whittering now, so turning up today still unsure.

Out of loyalty I will more than likely be there.

That way any comments, <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bigshock.gif" alt="" /> I make on here over the closed season.I can at least validate.by attending the Last game. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bigshock.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bigshock.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bigshock.gif" alt="" />

Pre-season is rarely a reliable indicator as to how the coming season will pan out.

Funnily enough, I'm off shortly to watch Barnet vs Stockport, in the crunch relegation battle.

At least there'll be some passion on display.

Don't get too disheartened, Darren, I know it is agony watching Fleet in their apparent death throes, but it cannot be very long before LD either falls on his own sword and resigns, or is shown the door, due to his failure to improve things. Either way he will need to have the summer of his life and make some extraordinary signings if things are going to get better, both on and off the pitch.
I would imagine season ticket sales are at an all time low awaiting developments, which will not help the cash flow through the summer.

Nonsense. Some of us are just sick of you making out you're victims when people don't agree with you 100%.

I and the people who don't slag people off are supporters too, we are not officials of the Club. We support the team, which does not necessarily mean we support the manager, any more than not slagging him off means we are up his b*m, as I've tried to point out before.

Unfortunately, Darren, I think you don't really love the Club in the way some of us do which is why you can walk away. I suspect you're one of these people for whom the team is an extension of their own ego, people who take it personally if the team lets THEM down, because their own ego is more important than what they feel about their team. And no I am NOT saying that to truly support a team you have to slavishly support everyting its mangement does & walk around grinning inanely in rose-tinted specs.

If I re-call you started coming when we were beginning to build success in the Ryman. Well if you go, you will just be a ship in the night. A charge I cannot level against WVN for all that I may often disagree with him.
