Today's Slough Express

The Slough Express should be closed down. They've run a story in which Stokes refers to mystery abusive calls he received from Slough fans over a year ago. He also AGAIN refers to our insistence that we want the council to give us £20m to build a stadium. Total, utter lies. The Express should be ashamed of themselves.

What if I write to them saying I have been threatened by Richard Stokes, Geoff Howard and other members of the alliance? Would they print that if I couldn't substantiate it or if they knew it was lies? On the basis of what they've printed recently they don't seem that bothered about whether stories have any connection with truth or reality.

My query is that if Stokes was so 'stoked' up about those abusive calls even after all this time, why didn't he get the police involved.

Also he seems not to ever read the Express, especially the last weeks when you all put your letters in. Quick enough to put something of his own tho'.

fingers crossed for a labour win in the elections on thursday then! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> at least the labour leaflet does include something about us, no mention of 20million pounds, just the fact that the current council have failed to take us back to the Park like they promised.

i take it that our election campaign is targeting liberal areas of slough, not labour ones? otherwise we could be messing up our own chances of getting stokes out

ARAAS, Labour are fielding candidates in all 13 wards where elections are being held - therefore the Trust candidates are standing in wards against Labour candidates.

And quite right too. We are not political - we are trying to get our voice heard so that all parties will listen

BFR, i meant areas not held currently by the labour party, ie i know haymill is a liberal seat.

but having looked at the election results from too years ago only one of the areas we are in is held by the labour party, the others are liberal (haymill), IBR (britwell), ILR (langley st marys) and independent (wexham lea).

I wish people would realise that we will still get shafted if the red terror wins every seat- as far as i am concerned i am standing to raise awareness of our plight and show that we deserve some attention.

If labour will do so much for us, why is everyone so quick to forget that our MP is Labour and shes done bugger all to help..
