Bill Edwards

Bill has been a brilliant servant to Margate FC over many years. One of my favourite memories is of him charging down on the opponents' area at Dover when asked to play up front. Has anyone else got favourite Bill Edwards memories?

 

Because of the Syko match Bill was not able to arrange a testimonial this season. Bearing in mind he is nearing the end of his career, and that he has not been selected to play recently, this Saturday might be the last chance to see him at Hartsdown.

 

Perhaps the fine lads in the choir could give a couple of verses of the 'got no hair' chant in appreciation.

i agree chris bill has been with us those conference days shame he is retireing next season

I will rememeber Bill the most for those 2 headed goals in 2 successive games this season and then celebrating with the fans, something we have not seen much since Sam Sodje left us.

He will be here for his testimonial at least.Dont think we have seen the last of him on the pitch yet either.In the main I thought he had done a good job this season.

Where is it 'published' that he is retiring end of next season.

Not one of his biggest fans, but totally agree that you have to applaud and reward his first class service to the club.

 

Is he really nearing end of his career-maybe with margate, but he is not old.

 

Certainly are older in the team, but hopefully in future, team will be picked on ability where and in a 4-4-2 formation Bill may struggle

What about JK? If memory serves he is older than BE will he be retiring soon? Will he play next season? He's had a great seaason this year, he would be hard to replace
