Agree with you 100% Tony. We found out to our folly when we appointed the German that he did not carry the passion to the players. National team managers are nothing more than motivators.

 

As for expierence what did Beckanbeaur have what has Van Basten got. You should appoint that ex non league player Stuart Pearce.

Yes he will try his hardest and on maybe 5 million so he should,BUT,to me is does matter what nationality the England boss should be,Stuart Pearce,not experience enough,that was said about Mr Hurst,when you say England,it should be English,and nobody can tell me that there is not an Englishman that could take the England side further than some foreigner,when you play for your country pride should come first and that starts with with the manager,the late great Brian Clough said,qoute; I would do the job for nowt.Enough said.

I understand where you are coming from Tony but i also feel to manage a national side like England you need a lot of management Knowledge on the game which no English managers currently have in my eyes. Football has come a long way since Mr Hurst and they were the days when all English players played in England, the game is a bit more continental now. Can i also remind you that it was Greece v Portugal in the Euro 2004 final and Greece did not have a Greek manager and Portuagal did not have a Portuguese manager, incidently Scolari. Also South Korea did not have a Korean manager and look how well they done.

Having said all that Rudi Voller failed as manager of Scotland.

Alex,ok we agree to disagree,I am not a mind of information on who done what in football in what year.As for management knowledge,and i am not being unkind here if you pick an England side it would most be the same side that any Sunday manager would pick,what we need IMO is when we are not winning a game we need that guy on the line to let us know just who the hell we are playing for you know that PRIDE in playing for your COUNTRY,how can some carlos kickaball do that for us,for him its just HIS pride and money,and when you talk about football has changed,how has it,England is England,are you saying that we are more in love with the game now than before,times change i know but IMO please lets get back to ENGLAND.
