Scolari offered England Job

Luiz Feipe Scolari has been offered the job of England manager & is discussing terms with with the football association.

Up for discussion!

What do you think? A good choice or not?

Should we be offering the job to another foreigner or to a home-based manager?

Personally I think its wrong to be taking on yet another foreigner to run our national side. No matter what his record is.

Trotty for England thats what I say!

Personally i couldn't give a monkeys cuss who the next manager is after Sven so long as he is a winner and takes the team to the top.

Its a point though. If Sven's team win the world cup then he will be the hero foreign or not.

Forgive me if im wrong ....but football was born and bred in England (our national game)..... why oh why do we have a non English manager for our NATIONAL TEAM....maybe because im female or just im totally not up to speed in ways of the male mind when its football were talking about ....we should have a Engish manager......or even better a woman as manager....you never know the players might be to scared to let her down if she got pmt..lol we would win without fail....there u go guys something else to think about

Come on Mrs Meatloaf. If we had a woman as manager our wage bill would soar. We would have to have a commitee or at least spend hours asking every Tom dick or Harry there opinnion.

the best man for the job should get it and that is what has happened

How do you know that then Steve? He has all the credentials, true, but does that mean he can succeed again.I can think of another not so far from home manager who had all the credentials too in his own class of football but was relieved of his duties due to poor results.Still, this outsider will have 4 years to get it right for the next world cup I suppose.
Winning things with Brazilians is nothing like winning with European footballers.Though this year the Europeans could outdo the Brazilians on the pitch in the World cup. I doubt it, but it could happen that way!
Come on England!!!

Wenger and Mourinho the 2 best managers in the world? I'm sorry, I don't agree with that. I think Benitez has proved that, on a much more limited budget than Mourinho, he is more tactically aware.

I'm not too sure about the appointment of Big Phil. To be honest, I don't care about nationality - but I still think O'neill would have been the best man for the job.

i still say a female manager would do wonders for the team.......if it was me that was manager i would spend wisely ....full medical ect before siging and i would supervise it myself and barter for my club so as i can save money ....if not watch out for the aggresive side hehehehehe

I know some of you lot will shout me down on this, but ,when I heard it was Skolari I said, another wog taking the English team over.It has to be a BIG kick in the balls for the english managers, the team picks itself for christ sake, all we need is a bit of Stuart Pearce to give them Your playing for England. Also I think its a shame that the pratts that appoint the England manager dont or wont hear the fans view.

Scolari as manager is definately the right choice and how football is now it does not matter what nationality the manager is. At the end of the day there are English players playing in every part of the World and there is just as much Foreign players in the Premier league then there is English. Also Curbishley has done f all for Charlton, so what use would he be, Sam Allardyce has not won anything big with Bolton, Steve Mclaren i think does not have the right attitude to manage England and Stuart Pearce is inexperienced and should be the next English England manager.

One final point Scolari will try his best with England as if we win a major competition then it will look good on his CV of winning a major competition with a national team that has not won one in 40 odd years.
