No he wasn't he was crap when he played for us. He knew it thats why he quit.

Sorry, got to put the record straight here. Did you watch him in action? Due to quitting the game because of a serious injury, yes, he had lack of pace but his positional sense made up for it.
Put 300 extra on the gate when he first played for us against Braintree.
Did you see him at Wigan? Kept young Dalgliesh very quiet!
On MOTD against Northampton, Adam Miller is intercepted in midfield and the ball finds it's way out to Dicks on the left who measures a pass down the left flank which involves Parms, Stimmo and a flick onto Greggors who famously scores. Dicks took a fantastic free kick in the first half which just missed and tried one again in the second half. It was that second free kick that ended his involvement with us as his knee had gone again and was shortly substituted thereafter.

Sorry staying up, but that's a crap observation and statement you have come out with there.

Dicksy the legend actually played at Park Lane and was one of the main highlights in the clubs history.

Julian Dicks wouldn`t be in my top 20 Canvey players but he gave his all while with us, i believe he was having injections in his knee just to be able to play.

He finished playing because there was a real danger he wouldn`t be able to walk in later life not because he had become a poor player.

You cannot say that a player who played a handful of games for the club would be classed as an "all time great" but Julian certainly played a big, big part in Canvey's success while here was here and he is without a doubt the most famous player to have ever represented the club.

One thing is for sure, he is an all time great Hammer and apparently (according to tonight's Evening Standard) was spotted in the Villa Park car park knocking back the cans with Hammers fans after the game. Top bloke for sure "The Terminator"... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bow.gif" alt="" />

The guy is a legend. My most cherished possesion is the coach ticket to Burnley he signed for me one night in the clubhouse.

Porters last gasp headed goal away at Col Ewe in the Senior Cup puts him in my top 10.

Jonah drove us up the leagues with all his goals.

Boylan, another injury hit superstar who could have taken us into the Football League.

Some skinny bloke called J. King I saw back in the 70's

Peter Taylor - future England Manager

Ginger Sex God - just legendary

Steve Tilson, obviously.

Stimmo, whether you like it or not.

Julian Dicks for raising the clubs profile when it needed it.

Ash Harrison was a great keeper.
