Harrow result

Poor performance.

Poor attitude.

Poor result.

Forwards not at the races tonight.

The biggest worry for me is not the defeat tonight, it is the general performance of several Players who need to lift their game for an expected 3 more games.

Those games are all going to be like Cup Finals and all will require 100% effort by the entire squad.

I just wonder if they have it in them.

I just wonder if Jim has it in him to lift them.

Come on Town don't blow a great season with indifferent performances in the final run-in. Your better than this.

Come on the team selection spoke volumes. It was all about rewarding the squad players that don't get a regular first team game and that got us there in the first place.

Both team selections would have been more at home in the ESL. Town were not interested tonight, suddenly promotion was more important. Players were rested by the bucket load and apart from Rudi who always gives 150% the rest were playing the match more like a reserve game (few tackles in case of injury). Town decided to play with a defence and midfield as usual.

Harrow Boro won the easiest cup final in their history. Brentford gave them a walkover and so did town tonight.

Chopper kept the score line respectable with a fantastic 1 - 1 save and got caught with handling a pass back. Hope Chopper at least gets on the bench for the playoffs.

Disappointed YES but I will forgive Jim if we go up. It would be a shame to have nothing to show from our first season at this level of football.

I agree with your comments Softie, but winning games is a habit and we have lost it over the last few weeks of the season.

I just hope the Management can lift the Players back up to former levels.

This Saturday is very very important as it will show what the Players have left, should a further 2 games be required ( which we expect to be the case, bar a Waltham Forest win - you never know ! )

I think Jim's view of the Harrow game was to give a "last game" to a few loyal Players.

Whether Town stay put or gain promotion, new Players are needed if the team is to progress. Some supporters may not agree, but my view is that the small lightweight forwards need some support, even though Town are high in the goalscoring chart.

i agree with both of you. it looked liek rewarding soem loyal players, but also we defintiely need to get back to winning ways before saturday and th play offs. on that form we've got no chance. I'm worried that if we don't go up, wee may lose the spine of the team, and worst of all Rudi, who's the heart

Really dissapointed about last night. This was a game we should have gone out and done our best to win and maintain our record as the only senior club in England to have won a senior level trophy in every season of it's existance. Jim game into the bar after the game and commented that he would have taken the reslut for a win on Saturday. My view is that Saurday will mean nothing. I understand that Corby have not lost at home all season so it will be the play offs regardless of Saturday unless there is a big upset (which may happen). If we could go into Saturday's game and the probable play offs with a trophy under our belts then think what a positive impact that would have had on the team's morale after a poor run of league results. Sorry but we got it all wrong last night and I am very concerned about the play offs now as we are in a bad run and will be playing a team on MOnday that has been fighting to get into the play offs.

Look. The problem is,what it always has been at the end of the season (and at the start of the season, for that matter).

WE ARE NO GOOD ON DRY DUMPY PITCHES.End of!

I was dreading the last month of fixtures for this very reason. Our great runs always happens in the middle half of the campaign, when the pitches are at their softest and most compliant.

We have a small team. They like to play short one touch passing, and play the ball around opponents. We have enough skill and knowhow to be able to do that on decent sufaces.Put us on a dumpy uneven pitch, and our game goes to pieces. That extra spilt second needed to get the ball under control and pass it off and recieve, totally nullifies our effectivness.Teams that we would walk through on good pitches, suddenly find that the tactic of chasing, shutting down and getting a toe-in, can effectively neutralise our game. And when out players see the ball bouncing at chest height all game and are finding it it harder and harder to get the ball under and play, without being clattered or swamped by the opposition, they do get frustraited and their heads do drop.

Seriously.I persoanlly believe our chances of winning the two play off games at home, rely very heavily on whether we get some rain on the pitch before hand, or if our groundstaff can somehow manage to water the pitch before both games.

To me,its that cut and dry at the moment.

We had a c..p pitch for two seasons before Roy got to work on it.

We very rarely lost a home game until Roy got his hands on it.

Roy has produced a miracle in getting the pitch to the standard it is with very limited resources.

We have lost some home games this year - let's blame the pitch! Next, people will want to get rid of Roy and want the sand back - remember the Carshalton game!

I can't post this as a new thread at the moment.

There is a bit of a problem with this coming weekend, and it's not just that I cannot get to the game/s.

Communication is the problem.

I think it is fair to say that about 20 - 30 ETFC supporters regularly come on this forum and post something or other. There may be others who just look, but don't touch, but we will never know who they are.

Saturday

If Corby draw or win, then no matter what happens in our game, we play at home on Monday.

If Corby lose and we win, we don't need the playoffs and will be the runners up.

If Corby lose and we either draw or lose, then we play on Monday.

Simple really.

However, we do need to let people know what's happening so I suggest that you tell your friends and fellow supporters to follow our progress on the www or tune in to page 399 on the BBC ceefax on Saturday evening.

It will be vital to our promotion push that we get as many supporters to the Brimmobeu on Monday if we have to face the 6th placed team.

Start spreading the news!

Can it really be news if it hasn't happened yet?
