It was a pleasure being there and sharing your company.We were also no more than three yards away from the incident where Liam was banished to the stands. The officials' behaviour - especially the fourth official and assistant referee - showed no common sense whatsoever. It would be interesting to get the view of referee Steve Bennett who was a spectator. After the way he handled the collision of two Woolwich players last Saturday where neither was injured and he allowed play to continue, I feel he may have noticed Craig's totally genuine injury and may have used one of the three occasions when the ball went dead to see if the keeper was fit to carry on. I would like to think that a referee as experienced as Bennett would have also noticed the commotion going on at the touchline and may well have intervened to resolve the aggravation. I find it hard to believe that last night's referee is being "fast tracked" all the way to the top. He clearly has a lot to learn.

The ref appeared to be afraid to dish out relevant punishments on the field for challenges ranging from bad to awful - the tackles by 8 (Boateng) and 2 (Henriques) in the first period were surely worthy off greater punishment then they attracted.

He seemed out of his depth and reacting to shouts from players/the crowd. He was somewhay hampered by his rotund assistant who was at least 2 yards behind play all the time and became most unhappy when his mistakes were pointed out to him.

That was Johnson, who has reffed at Dartford a few times, and has been consistently abysmal.
