Muff Hearing Thursday

GC = Gary Calder (CEO for Weymouth)

I personally would not want to win the league by default.

It a crying shame that the blazers in football (Soho Square upwards) can't organise a p1ss up in a brewery. There must be a better way of punishing clubs that get the paperwork wrong rather than deducting points. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

I agree with the principle, CS. League titles and this knid of stuff should be decided on the pitch rather than in some Committee room at Soho Square, but, of course, if only life were that simple.

There's a lot of coverage of this business on the back page of the St Albans Observer today. It looks as though this story could run for a while.

[incidentally, however, CS. There is a very solid principle behind the oblgation upon the club to obtain 'international clearance' for a player. The club who wants to sign t'lad must ensure that he hasn't benn banned for some misdemeanour, or under contract to some other club, or, even worse, if he owes some other League money [!].]

I feel that the only professional, full time club in the division should be slightly better at making sure all the 't's are crossed & 'i's dotted...

Any truth in the rumour that the FA mistook Big Phil Scolari for Garry Hill & actually meant to offer the England job to the best manager (sic) in Conference South'...??

Scottish fictional detective, JKiF. Now passed away. Well the actor what played him has passed away but the series lives on. Apparently. I don't watch it, actually.

Back to the matter at hand.

I have a very bad feeling about this Muff business.

Let's win our next two games and get on with it.

Farnborough? In the bag? They might have Conference South football for next season 'in the bag' JKiF, but that's as far as it goes.

Nothing's a gimme, but any other team hoping for a play-off spot will be wetting themselves at the prospect of playing The Mighty Saints in Hertfordshire on Sunday week. And quite rightly so. They'll all be relying on that old 'anything can happen in one game' stuff. Me? I'm not interested in who we play, nor old football cliches. There will only be eleven of 'em, and that wont be enough.

If t'lads play to anything like their capablilities, it's the road to a place in Europe within 5 seasons.

[Has anyone got Mancini's cell-phone number? He's got a left foot. I've had another idea.]
