Fleet Mad

Our Mr Harrison is not a happy bunny!

Taken from fleet Mad :

"Gravesend travelled to the North lancashire seaside town of morecambe filled with hope of back to back victories. Unfortunately it was false hope.

The match statistics from this fixture reveal everything there is to be said of this game. Morecambe - 12 shots throughout the game, Gravesend - 3 shots, just one on target. so far as The Fleet are concerned this Conference season has nothing further to offer, their lack of enthusiasm in this fixture epitomised this fact.

Liam Daish has procliamed 'big changes' for next season, this statement would seem to have demotivated his current crop of players. That along with talk of what can only be described as futile legal action (allegedly) against players for talking to their peers allegedly giving away vital pre-match tactics. It smacks of passing the buck and is nothing but disruptive to morale and squad culture.

If the current management team want to blame anyone for the drop in form and quality of the team then they shouldn't try to aportion blame elsewhere. Stand up and be counted, The Fleet are no longer an inspirational footballing side, now with Mr daish at the hlem they are predictable long ball merchants. Easily denied as they have too few flair players but several lumpers of the ball.

This said, they merit their current league status and have the potential to develop into a side who could be challenging at a greater level. To achieve that, they require a complete overhaul of major parts of the playing squad, perhaps by a new management team in the summer.

One can only feel sympathy for the supporters of the club who expressed their concerns about the managers potential and his football style. To be fair he started with some small success - which now has dropped off considerably.

A new manager if deemed the correct and proper way forward, will bring new enthusiasm, greater hope and larger attendances and income streams for the club. Otherwise one can only fear for the immediate chances of success at this desperate for success club. Yesterdays eprfrmance and result tends to sum up this season, hope but little in the way of delivery."

I personally make no comment on this.

You seem to be the only one bothered by him Gaz? Don't visit his site if you feel that strongly about his reporting skills. Who cares what he thinks, he supports Carlisle United not us, he's nothing else to moan about has he!

Except a couple of his most recent articles have actually been of interest, ie the Grays and the Morecambe one.
I suspect not many actually like his style - putting his name to a bucket load of MAD football sites is his business, and fair play to him for that, but he should never pretend to be a fan of each club he runs a MAD site for.

Paul Harrison said:What started out as a season of high hope and ambition has resulted in one which has been desperately below average.

I can't imagine most realistic Fleet fans of some years were silly enough to have 'high hope and ambition' at the beginning of this season.

I'd like to make some comments If I may;

The Fleet did you proud at the shay on Tuesday, and they can count themselves unlucky not have taken anything from the game.

You hit the bar twice, brought out one of our keepers best performances this season and played by far the better football.

You do need a finisher though to take advantage.

Rest assured, the fleet turned up to play and even after going two down, didn't give up, in fact got better as the game went on.

Good luck for next season, I hope we're not going to play you only cos hope we'll have been promoted, take heart.
