Tuesday Ponderings

• It seems that MAD's headache has cleared up, and he's back at school this morning.

• I suspect we'll beat Hayes on Saturday. I'd rather have beaten them in the league and lost in the Trophy.

• Fire-Fighters, Airports and now Teachers. I earn less than all of them - when's it my turn?

• I'm listening to Concert For Bangladesh. Pure Class.

• St Albans, Spurs and EFM all won at the weekend. Arsenal, in addition, lost. These occurances don't happen simultaneously very often.

Funny you should mention the fire fighters, I drove past them this morning and considered shouting some abuse at them, but decided not to.

I went driving around Saturday morning just to look for the fire fighters to give then a toot and words of support.

 

As for Zeal on strike, you can hardly claim to be underpaid for the work you do, which is basically this!

 

Skilled workers such as fireman, nurses, teachers deserve more money. The rate and cost of living has gone up so much over the last few years (especially in the south). Why anyone would want to join these proffesions now is beyond me. But we need these people and they need to be paid the rate that their efforts in the community and our lives warrant.

The simple solution is to ask have a referendum and all those in favour of a rise can pay for it. Those not in favour should exercise caution when skinning up, etc, to avoid fires. I'm in the middleground somewhere.

No, Mad, GHA is right,myself and GHA were discussing the similar subjects we study for A-Levels and I do believe it was EFM,The Firm,The Voice who then said/typed 'you two should go out' or something to that affect. THAT is how the rumour started.

 

By the way, GHA, I was down near Verulam the other day doing a reverse park during my driving lesson. If you see someone crashing into one of the lamposts down there at about 3.30 on friday, then it'll probably be me, failing my test <img src="/forums/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" />
