I would say it is both Trotty is doing a lot right and the previous management was (towards the end anyway) inept. Trotty for manager please. The players looked to be fitter than they have looked all season today and this showed when we completely controlled the game with 10 men. Dean Standen seems to be settling too now. RT has just had a great impact in under a month so imagine what could happen in a season. It has got to be worth a shot in my opinion.

Have to admit you've got my vote, cant see KP ignoring results like these, lets be honest had Charlie not been injured last match it would have been a win, making 3 wins one draw, a probable 10 from a possible 12, those stats cant be ignored. OK I know everyone want Hess because of the possible signing he could attract, but then couldnt same be said of RT, indeed hes already said as much?

I'd also go for RT.

I would just add though that before with get too carried away, we have not really played anyone special in last 5 games.

Bit of a shame really that RT can't be tested against a Wimbledon,Riccy ,Heybridge or Braintree

From being about 4 points of a possible relegtion spot with 6 games left under CK and now being 8 points clear with 1 game left under RT is quite impressive when you put into acount that we had to play games that were not easy. Despite my optimsism a while back i think if CK was still in charge i think we WOULD have got relegated.

I say give RT a chance next season and when the season is 2 months old and Margate are doing well then give him the job if we are still performing under expectations then look elsewhere. I think 2 months will be a significant amount of time as within that time we would have played 1 or 2 difficult teams some easy teams and some medioka sides.

michael you say we havent played anyone testing in last 6 games, Hampton, Worthing, Folkstone are all rated above us, Hampton & Worthing where both promotion hopefulls yet we won & drew against them. As yet under RT we havent lost a game against a higher placed team, yes it would be nice to see how he does against the real hot shot teams, but these matches are the real bread & butter matches that get you into the promotion places, the top 5-6 teams will always fight to gain the top spot.

I also have to dis-agree with you Alex, we need to get a new manager in place asap to bring stability into the squad, & start building towarss next season.

I understand that but if we hire RT and then come next we struggle against the big sides then it is a waste. However RT could actually be the best non-league manager and we dont know it yet. It is a gamble at the end of the day. What ever decision the club takes some people will like and others wont.

[color:"blue"]I think that. if he wants the job, Robin has made a good case for himself. Gaining 8 points from the past 12 & only conceding once in those four games is a great turn-around. However I think we have to have Flanagan (or another suitably qualified man in the dugout to help oversee the side from the sidelines), without that kind of experience we'll struggle with a Player-Manager.

Unfortunately, whowever is given the job, they will be surrounded by doubt until they have either failed or proved themselves.

But RT has taken a team that was being consistantly over run, with probable low moral, & turned them around if I recall with only 2-3days till a match?

If we get Hess as a manager, he has stated that he would like to play for another year, so we will still have a player manager wont we?

One smal problem in all of this, which must be rather a large problem for the Board,is that as far as iam aware ,CK is still Manager.

CK was suspended as i recall.

Therefore, that needs resolve prior to another appmnt.

If MFC were to appoint another Manager before the CK situation is resolved, then CK could have a case for constructive dismissal.

Does anyone know if CK is anything other than still' suspended' !!

What impressed me yesterday is that the players all presented the same, in kit, ready to go, subs and team. They did the warm up together, and the warm down at the end. They all came on to the pitch together at the end, and celebrated together. And they all looked really happy.

Another thing I noticed was that the supporters did not all rush off at the end either, we all stood there together near the team, and there was a really good spirit. It probably helped that it was lovely and warm, and we won, but it was good nevertheless.
