Please! Please be careful, I am a little disturbed by the tone of some of the comments on this site.

The King family and management team have done a tremedous amount for Canvey Island and CIFC.

They have used their money and time to run the club, I know the comments in this evenings paper came straight from Jeff. He has made assurances about the clubs future and his involvement, I know he is committed to the club and if he does hand it over it will be to "genuine supporters".

Please do not turn thursdays meeting into something aggressive or confrontational.

Kem Bungle et al

We have no rights to start demanding answers to questions or other things, if Jeff wanted he could pack up and sell the club to Basildon United's Chairman(they are currently looking for a ground).

I would suggest in CG's absence we pick half a dozen people to ask the questions, sensible questions based on what we know (for fact)in a conciliatary tone.

If I was on the board and people started firing questions at me in an aggressive manner, I would sling in the towel and walk away, we cant afford for that to happen.

Let's just hear what has to be said,

Lets not take any of the speculation that has been developing on this site

Lets not take rumour, placed here to upset our club.

I would propose what is in tonights paper is the closest we have to fact at the moment, lets act on that.

Do not forget these people are Canvey through and through, please be careful.

Lets lighten up a bit, nothing has changed, I am certain Jeff reads this site occassionaly and also people tell him what was posted, I think tonights comments in The Echo reflect that, it would not do to alienate someone who has done so much for this club at this point. Lets keep our posts positive.

Glen and anyone else who was at that meeting last night please let us know on here, (maybe set up a thread specially for the purpose) the answer to some basic questions like, who decided who should attend these meetings, what was discussed and why was it not made public, there are I am certain many good reasons why everybody cant know everything.

At this stage we need to keep everyone positive and focused, keep trying to build a working fund and supporting our team.

People need to keep on supporting Jeff and the current team and if anything changes we need to be ready to help out, transparency is very important but then so is trust.

Glen if you repeat all the official stuff from the post you made earlier about last night's meeting into a brand new thread entitled something like "Supporters Trust Meeting - 4th May 2006" the Mods can make it a sticky post so it stays at the top and anything else 'official' posted by yourself or another Club representative can be kept to that thread.

Also, it might be worth creating a seperate thread which can also be kept sticky for those wishing to nominate themselves for a place on the commitee. It will be us voting them on after all! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
