_.·´¯`·->»Canvey Island Vs Exeter City - April 22nd 2006«<-·´¯`·._

Unlikely as it may seem now the squad has been announced on the Official site, but I wouldn't have minded a few of the youngsters given a run out tomorrow.

Win, lose or draw makes no difference to us now. We can't go up or down a league, (on points anyway) and it could well be our last Conference match a Park Lane for some time.

Final Score and line-up? Couldn't really care! Just as long as the Yellow Army give our players the support they deserve for getting us to this point in the Club's history.

What is also a bit of a shame is that, any neutrals wanting to witness a bit of history will be travelling to Roots Hall to see Southend get promoted if they win rather than Park Lane to see the end of an era.

Sorry as this thread is not for this but tomorrow, I won’t really care about the result. I shall be looking around the ground thinking what a shame that for whatever reason, conference level football did not work over here.

At this time, still the club is part time, lying 15th in the league with no debts and it’s such a shame that all this will stop perhaps for now after going so far. It’s ready now for someone or something to pick up the reigns and continue, but looks like nothing will come through.

I suppose it’s best you find out now if the appetite wasn’t there for this level of football as there appears to be just too much else going on, or people just simply can’t afford football nowadays.

Tomorrow we are playing Exeter, next season it could be Berkhamsted, (sorry Berkhamstead), but you get my drift.

Well the Yellow Army will treat it like any other match, if not a bit more special. The noise against Kiddy was great, we're really gonna make sure we finish the season with a bang!

On the pitch, 3-1 to Canvey, Hallett, Minton, & Tait.

Looked a few more than 641 there today, but whatever it was not enough to support a good club and a good team that have shown are more than capable at competing at this level. Played well today, see you all at Halifax next week. Maybe Jeff will announce that he has just been teasing us a little !

Good entertaining game today with a draw a fair result I felt.

God, wasn't it emotional at the end when the players saluted the crowd? You had to be one hard bast*rd not to be moved by that, knowing that it is likely to be the last time you will see most of them in a Canvey shirt at Park Lane. Loved the way Wardy lightened the mood however by getting on his hands and knees and bowing to the crowd - thanks for the sentiment Steve, we love you too and you truly are a legend for all time at CIFC.

He was still down the club when I left. Rest assured he will say his thank yous when he gets a chance.
