At the moment i think entertainment value takes a back seat to security in our league postion, but tbh i cant really say i have enjoyed alot of are performances pre trott this season any how.

We have had the odd good game but as a hole i have left hartsdown park or the odd away game i have been to with a gut wrenching feeling of it surely couldnt get any worse, and more often then not the only entertainment value seemed to come from the oposeing team.

Now that might sound quite negative but that is honestly how i have felt most of this season untill recently.

There is no threat of relegation and, to be honest, we haven't seriously been in that situation all season.

On another note, how do people think we'll line up without Albert tomorrow?

After the W&E game i couldnt see us picking any more points up, Windosr were a terible team and we looked quite average until BB got sent off then some of the lads picked there game up mainly JK & Yiga, after that result i had more or less conceded we were doomed to finish 19th place.

Any how a game without bertie will be intresting who will be upfront with Danny??, i think the goalie situation might be more of a concern.

A winning side would attract crowds.

One nil to the Gate every game would suit me wonderfully.

Boring Boring Margate would suit.

Don't concede and you don't lose and get a minimum of one point.

You start with a point per game so don't concede the nil.

I get so excited by clean sheets !!!!!

With nothing to play for I would like to see a 4-3-3 line up against Leyton, with Sesay right, and Knight left running at the defence; Hockton poaching.

I would also like to see it tried with Sesay/Brayley/Hockton, but that might be too much of a risk at the start of a new season. PSFs maybe?

You need strong midfielders for that formation. Protheroe is perfect central, Deen would be great on the right, Standen good on the left. Don't think Yiga can play that role.

Also I would like to add my vote to give Trotty a chance as manager. He certainly talks a good job, his record (so far) has been great, and he has good contacts at the required level.

It would save about £30K too, which must count for something!

Agree with you apart from Standen as a strong midfielder. I totally disagree with that. Warren Ryan, Adrian Clarke or another ball playing midfielder with a good engine would be great.

Trotty's contacts are probably by and large still in the game which is a massive advantage when it comes to rebuilding a team.

I wouldnt mind seeing 4-3-3 experimented in pre-season once we can sign a couple more players. Im not sure we have the strength in midfield at the moment for 3 quality central midfielders who are fit to play tomorrow.

Your wide midfielders don't need to be so attacking minded in a 4-3-3, which is why I rated Standen ok for the role. If you had Ryan (great player admittedly) you would have to drop Protheroe back a bit and maybe lose some of his effectiveness.

Clarke is a wingback isn't he? Can't see him as defensive midfield.

I realise that the three midfielders dont have to attack too much but having two of them with good ball playing skills (Protheroe + one other to give quality service to the two wide men Sesay and Brayley and also Hockton) would be a major advantage to avoid teams marking us out of the game. I always felt Clarke played his best when part of a 3 man central midfield combo in the CK days. He can provide good support going forward drifting into either channel or behind the striker also dropping back. It is important to be able to mix it up and Clarke could be a good signing. You dont need three defensive midfielders. Two is fine with one more attacking minded but must have an engine.

Judging by Mr Piper's recent comments we can't expect to sign the quality of Clarke.

A lot of it is how well players link together. Sesay is an outsider when you look at LP/BB/SK/DH, so I would say it's up to the manager to get them working together and trusting each other.

I think once Sesay has teed Danny up with a goal or two that could work ok. DH and BB already have a good understanding. Hockton and Yiga are never going to be a partnership.

I would like to see 5 in midfield and just Hockton up front.

A boring nil nil draw would be a delight.

Having said that, i reckon you have more attacking options with 5 in midfield anyway and we would actually score alot of goals.

Depends really if Hasim is fit.

If Hasim is fit i'd have him in defensive midfield in a beckenbaur role in the foillowing team:

Bechet

Oates Trott Donovan Standen

Sesay Gradley Deen Protheroe Keister

Hockton.

subs Yiga, Edwards ,allman(if fit) Demoah (if he is still with us)Kola

(I'm sure JK can manage one game on the left)

Just a thought-not beyond Edwards to play as striker-i'm not sure ,but did,nt he start his career up front and is,nt he about our sixth top scorer this season !!!

Now you mention it MM if Allman is fit he could be worth a go at left wing in any formation. He seems a little suspect defensively as those who were at Hampton might admit. He made me worry a couple of times when he looked to be beaten all ends up. But he is good on the ball and I am sure has good crossing ability and can pick a pass. Could be worth playing him left wing and put up with Standen at left back to try out Allman. If it works we have the option of playing 4-3-3 with Brayley Hockton Sesay or playing 4-4-2 next season with Allman wide left, Sesay wide right and Hockton & Brayley up front. Gives us options. Would agree that I dont see where Yiga fits in now though. Not been impressed by Knight, Chris. He's just not done anything of note yet but as he is likely to play the last two games maybe he will perform well.

My main reason for suggesting 4-3-3 was to see how good Sesay really is, and whether he can set up Danny.

Must admit we haven't got the quality on the left of midfield. Can Deen play left? Keister/Protheroe/Deen perhaps. Don't want to see Protheroe anywhere but central mid, where he has been a revelation.
