OKAY...WHAT GROUNDS DON'T WE WANT TO VISIT NEXT SEASON

Recommended Posts

Come lads, if we had the choice, what grounds would we prefer to have moved to the Southern League so we don't have to visit them again next season. Top 5

1) Melbourne Park....sorry, Chelmsford Sports and "Whatever The Real Owners, Chelmsford City Council Want To call It" Park

2) Northwood (alas, I think we'll be going there at least twice next season)

3) Walton (another bloody running track and a club house that I'm sure should be condemed)

4) East Thurrock

5) Redbridge (No chance of that happening next season - bonus)

I was going to put Harrow down but was reminded of the quality of Bar Maids...a redeeming feature, me thinks

have to say it was a hard decision but here we go

1 The chelmo discus field

2 Leyton ( even the Leyton fans dont want to go there)

3. Folkestone unless its a summer night cos I cant see in the dark

4. Heybridge, everybody is so miserable there

5.E Thurrock

As a footnote one of the best grounds with the nicest people to visit is Staines

Best ground? Cooooo.....Now there is a question. Top 5

1) Staines

2) Bromley (bar isn't too hot but the people are okay)

3) Hampton (bar prices are pricey though)

4) Margate (Nice playing pitch - Stewards are a little over zealous tho)

5) Wimbledon (Again, nice playing pitch...bar is okay and I've found those in the bar friendly)

Really...the above should be in no particular order.

And credit should go to Braintree for their pitch...Bar isn't bad either.

Doesn't Champion Hill get a mention? Panoramic views from the clubhouse and a wannabe stripper behind the bar (Ricay knows!)

Also get rid of Worthing, Victor Gladwish sh*thole...

I think Grays was the best ground, wrong league though...shame.

Personally in the Ryman League my favourite has to be Stag Meadow. Nice part of the country, great pubs in the surrounding area. Ground has a lot of character too.

As for Harrow don't know why that gets a mention in the worse ground list. Stadium is Ryman Premier standard and the clubhouse is one of the best in the league, good day out!

Folkestone is an ok ground, but i hate going there as the weather is sh*t and we always seem to lose.

Seeing as weve had all the away games this is must be nearly time for a burger review. My personal favourite was Braintree 'Iron burger'. Gorgeous. The ones at Chelmsford and Staines were heaps of sh*te

Apologies if the Bovril was not hot enough. You must have had one just after we had to refill the urn. Perhaps if you make it up to the Southern next season you can have a freebie on us. Also thanks Gazza for the praise on the Iron Burger. They do seem to go down well.

Iron Burgers are superb. Best food I've had at a non league ground this season and that includes the majority of the Conference.

After a poor showing from many of the grounds last year, I didn't partake of many burgers this time around. Special mention must go to the Worthing Chilli Burger - I had 2...

On the more important subject of beer, worst pint was at Windsor, although they get let off because the pub up the road does a nice pint of Broadside!

Gazza, I think you may be a little premature in wanting certain grounds moved to the Southern League next season. It now could be yourselves who join Braintree Town in the Southern League. Great result by Maldon today dont you think. I for one would quite like Ricay to do it, at least its a local derby. Good luck next week.
