Forest Green - Houdini's team

Not really-live locally and it was definately not the club sec. who reported it.

Valid comment re: last season, but are a decent side this season.

Will probably finish 20th anyway so not an issue.

In fairness they are very well managed and structured behind the scenes, which is more than can be said for alot of clubs, and they move into a new stadium from June 1st, which has been built on time and to budget;and again sensibly by using many recicled materials from the current ground which has been demolished bit by bit as season has gone on.

They are well liked in upper echelons of conference management purely because they epitomise what non league football is all about-well structured off the pitch-no sugar daaddy's-heretoday/gone tomorrow.

Do punch slightly above their weight but similar to Gate, their off field structure from next season with commercial activities, should help further with funding the football side.

maregate remains my first love and rather than see FGR v Stevenage next week in play off/ relegation decider, you will be relieved to know i shall be at HDP

For what must be the fourth time, it looks as though FGR will escape the drop from the Conference. On this occasion, it's due to the "self-relegation" a la Margate style of Canvey Island and the 18 -point deduction imposed on Altrincham.

Actually it will be the second time, assuming that they do finish in the (real) bottom two this season.

No but it was the club sec who contacted the conference pointing out the similarities between Altrincham and Leigh RMI last season to make sure that the conference took action.

All for the good of football of course!!!!!

For anyone who is interested.

Statement from the press secretary at FGR(no its not Alistair Campbell)

I think the interest may come more from our friends and readers at Gravesend who for some reason do have a bit of difficulty with FGR.

(nice stadium to visit next year though DH)

Something to do with a 'Gravesend's ground isn't up to standard' phone call that they made to the conference last season in an effort to save themselves - although Northwich being demoted saved them in the end.

Therefore, they have form for grassing.

Green Grass Rovers I affectionately call them nowadays. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" />
