The plot thickens...

Mais naturellement, mon ami.

We have no concerns regarding any of our players, thanks very much. Our chap who used to drive the red tractor knows what he's doing.

Don't slip up at Stortford, now. Or at home to Lewes by the look of it. Six points should be good enough for you guys.

From the OFFICIAL Conference site.....

Five clubs are at risk of losing points following news that player Solomon Taiwo's registration has been called into question.

Taiwo played in the Ryman League Division One with Tooting & Mitcham United last season before going to the United States in the summer.

He therefore needed international clearance before he could play in England again and unfortunately he failed to tell any of the clubs about this.

This means that Maidenhead United, Weymouth, Chesham United, Dagenham & Redbridge and Windsor & Eton could all possibly be docked points gained from the games that Taiwo featured in.

However, Maidenhead, Chesham and Windsor have already been relegated and will not be affected as such but Weymouth are in danger of losing the Nationwide South title if they are deducted the four points gained with Taiwo in the side.

Play-offs delayed to July? August?

From BBC

Midfielder Taiwo is investigated

The Conference is looking into the status of midfielder Solomon Taiwo.

After playing in the USA, Taiwo joined Maidenhead before moving on to other clubs, including Weymouth - allegedly without international clearance.

The Conference is now investigating the matter with the FA's help, and if it deems necessary, will call an enquiry.

But the BBC understands that any possible sanctions are unlikely to affect Weymouth, who clinched promotion to the Conference National on Saturday.

Taiwo played two games for the Terras in the autumn, in which they collected four points.

Havant have lost their appeal for the three points deducted after (effectively) playing an ineligible player.

No place for it in this league, obviously. Weymouth are preferring to state that 'Chavant' have been deservedly punished for their stupidity etc... Hope it doens't come back to haunt them!

It's a highly complex matter, GHA, and the two situations bear no resemblance to each other whatsoever. Three actually.

Haven't selected a player to play in a match having agreed with the club what they signed him from that they wouldn't. That agreement was confirmed in writing according to Martyn Harrison, whose word I have no reason to doubt. It had nothing to do with his eligibility to play in this country. The football authorities deducted three points - the points that Haven't secured in that particular game - and justice was done.

The Muff, on the other hand, signed and selected a player for 4 games who was not eligible to play in this country as prior 'International clearance' had not been obtained for t'lad in accordance with the rules of the football authorities in the UK. Muff secured 4 points in the League and made 27 squillion pounds from F.A. Cup run that resulted from the inelligible player's appearances.

Totally different situation, GHA.

It's also totally different from the position with Altrincham and the player James Robinson. There, Altrincham signed a player and selected him for 13 games who was not eligible to play in this country as prior 'International clearance' had not been obtained for t'lad in accordance with the rules of the football authorities in the UK. The Conferenc ededucted the 18 points that Altricham secured during the inelligible players matches.

Totally diffferent, GHA, as will be clear to all.
