Next Seasons Ground?

Recommended Posts

On the clubs News release of 10th March 2006 it stated that a decision on staying at Stag Meadow needed to be communicated to Windsor by the 31st May 2006.

As we are now half way to that deadline is there any news?

As was stated in the news release of 13th March 2006 the club would consult with STST and the supporters - when will this consultation take place as time is running out as there are only 2 more games this season left and only one of those at "home".

Can anyone shed any light please.

Ian - I really don't know what they're planning on doing or how to do it. I wish they would communicate it out to either the website or the papers, but it's not going to happen. My post above, is merely of my expectation of what is going to happen.

not to get to involved with this thread..but we still have a month...and maybe just maybe we will be asked or given some facts..

W & E will be looking to secure us for at least another season, but it maybe already out of their hands..depending which leagues everyone will be allocated to...but if i was in W & E shoes negotiations are the name of the game...

but if their not interested then ..it will be their lost if they feel that the venture had been worthwhile ..you never know...they might think it was'nt...

I expect the club will do its best to secure a good deal plus offer the supporters a viable alternative if their is going to be one...

SR made a good comment...are we to be involved ?

lets see....soon..i hope....

cheers chris

I agree with Marcus, relegation for Windsor gives us the whip hand, so we should try & re-negotiate the rent down (assuming the lease so allows). Their general income will be less next season so the potential rental income from us will become more valuable and important.

Anyway, Burnham have a better ground, better pitch and fantastic floodlights, we should be talking to them.

It only gives us a better negotiating position IF we have an alternative. If we don't, and W&E know that we don't, then they have us by the preverbial's. They can function without us, perhaps not for too long without other income replacing us, but we couldn't even start the season if we didn't agree a deal and had nothing else on the table.

As far as I know, Burnham's not an option as they have restrictions on how much their ground can be used due to issues with local residents.

W&E don't need our income to survive though, they'd simply have to cut their cloth accordingly.

It would appear though that we do have alternatives available in Maidenhead and Beaconsfield, maybe Burnham (although with the restrictions I doubt it).

How is us getting relegated in any way lowering the quality of the ground? It isn't. If we was a Sunday League Pub side ( we do do a good impression of one sometimes) i'd hope we'd charge you the same as if we was a conference side!!

I cant see it being 25K again, i mean how was the money spent last year? On your quality side? Carrolls contract? Jarvis' suspensions? Ralf Little's red nose and custard pies? You dont need that sort of money because i would expect the likes of Drake and co have already sorted out their next club, and because of your attendences dropping even more due to relegation average of 100-120 max? We have more bargining power, admittedly if there is NO chance of us going elsewhere then we will pay whatever but i cant see why SYCOB is not a valid option, we will see i suppose?
