sorry Mr Northern Monkey, but if Altrincham were in the Conference they would have condemned us anyway, and I'm not signing a petition for a club that was too stupid to check a players registration details. I may send a shiny penny towards the fine if I get a receipt back but I won't hold my breath.

we are not all the same down here...they are our newer supporters that proberly don't go back that far supporting Slough...apologies but I think that they were under the impression that Alti were never but a conference side !

 

I think its an old pals act with the conference and depends a lot if your face fits or not...

 

hope you overturn the decision...

Such a hypocrite nibbler - concerned about being tarred by one brush and yet in one foul swoop assume that Alti would have sided against Slough when things went wrong. What sort of peasant are you?

They finished bottom in 96/97 so weren't in the Conference in 97/98 when we were expelled from it.

thanks for clarifying, I just find it deeply amusing that when these clubs get into trouble due to the sheer incompetence of people running them (Dover and now Altrincham) they think we have a duty to help them. We don't because aside from a few clubs no-one came to our rescue when Wexham Park was taken away and the freehold sold did they?

What about a bit of sympathy with there fans who must be gutted - it isn't there fault someone forgot to check the players registration. 18 points seems well harsh - with Forest Garden, who apparently grassed them up, looking like they could survive relegation again.

I wouldn't suggest helping with their fine, but i hate some of the who-cares-about-anyone-but-us attitude on here, its depressing. When i visited Altrincham when we were in the Conference I remember it being a very friendly little club.

It is very harsh and i do remember us playing Altrincham in the conference (new fan?!) I also agree with BR that it was a nice little club. I feel sorry for the fans but whoever is running that side the club is obviously a total retard.

remember its the supporters that eventually suffer...in all these types of cases..I expect the person who did not get it right has got a pay rise and promtion..that's what normally happens...

 

I feel for Alti ... i don't care what nibbler (liam) feels thats his way...but maybe just o.5 per cent of the slough supporters feel that way...the other 99.5 % have some sympathy...

we should have some sympathy from the fans, but they should be getting angry at the management of the club for allowing this to happen and the player for not disclosing this. Running over every internet forum asking people to sign petitions because "oh no, we broke a rule in the FA rulebook but support us because we weren't aware of it" is just something I can't reconciliate nor support. And if what was Slough that had f*cked up this spectacularly then I would be demanding the resignations of the people in charge

As i was the one that first made this mistake i was say that if you had been in the Coference you would have voted us out. The only clubs that voted to keep us in were the Southern clubs and i mean South of Watford.
