Altrincham getting stuffed by Conference

It would seem Alty have been hit with an 18 point deduction for fielding an ineligible player which is certain to relegate them.

That was the number of points Altygot while he was playing for them (signed from Accrington but they escape as he didn't play in the Conference for them. Ridiculous!

Saw that just now. Given the circumstances, it seems incredibly harsh, particularly as it was obvious that would effectively relegate them. Accrington have got away with it having not signed him on conference forms before he moved on.

 

Would similar punishments be handed out to bigger clubs? Not so sure myself.

If Southampton are so great why dont you watch them every Saturday and spend all of your time on their forum rather than bother us with your stupid comments?

surely though it is up to the league to find this out before he is allowed to play so many games, altrincham obviously didnt realise they were doing wrong?

They got 18 points deducted because that's how many points they picked up in the games in which he played in.

 

It seems totally ridiculous to me, it should by Accrington Stanley receiving the bigger punishment for allowing him to sign for another english club whilst knowing he wasn't registered to play!

It does seem that Stanley have got off totally unpunished. It's not unreasonable for Alty to assume, as they were signing him from an English club, that he had any required clearance. I bet they don't stop Accrington going up.
