TC I accept the old adage of 'There is no such thing as bad publicity' for people like Kate Moss etc but not for CCFC.

I'm sure you'd love it if they ran a headline like 'TC whops it out in the BTFC bar'. I doubt you would be saying thats good publicity.

BUB, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, I recognise the fact that some of the coverage CCFC gets IS negative, I just feel you guys miss the good, and perhaps an opportunity or two.

But hey, I could be wrong, it was just my view, after all its none of my business anyway.

Send Toffee down and we'll give it a go, I reckon we could get good publicity from it.

For all their moaning about their coverage from the EC, who do a very accurate report of the problems Chelmo are having in keeping the crowd in the most deprived area of the town, they forget to mention the positive coverage they get from BBC Essex, who give them a mention whenever the Ryman League is mentioned and Mark Babbage has been dispatched to commentate on matches from Maldon and from Redbridge against Chelmo, when big games involving promotion with 'Ricay,B'tree and Heybridge have been ignored. Maybe we should all write letters to BBC Essex.

For some bizarre reason, Romford got a write up on the back of the Billericay and Wickford Gazette this week... As did Leyton Orient!. We were a couple of pages in, but we did get a nice big "Billericay Rout Redbridge" Headline - subbed "Town are still in with a chance of making promotion play-off places" which is optimistic, if nothing else. Also coverage of the Harrow and Fisher matches and prizegiving (including under 18s) giving us almost an entire page....

The Echo is shocking imho - most Saturday games get a re-hashed version of the NLP report, whilst midweek we get a couple of paragraphs at best. Perhaps if Canvey are on the wane we should send Dick Marshall a map to New Lodge?

Agree with Ryan - the local edition of the Romford recorder is the best paper, they have 3 (I think) dedicated non league reporters and quite often come to our games. Problem is I can't get it where I live south of the A127...

Lets be fair Urchin, clubs at the level of afch and romford are lucky to get any coverage at that level. Village type coverage in my area is normally submitted by the clubs.

can see where you are coming from, but when that club still averages over 400 then it should get a decent coverage,at least better than romfords, but i am led to believe their sports editor is a romford fan!!

I really don't know what all the fuss is about. Someone brought the EC into the club tonight and apart from the back page there was quite a lot of positive reporting elsewhere in the sports section about Chelmsford.

My take on this is, as the Essex Chronicle is a Essex newspaper and that Braintree (last time I looked) are an Essex club, recently promoted Ryman Champions, that would be BIG news for the paper with local interest. It was Borg who took the opportunity to turn the interview around to Chelmsford...Some people should look to the positive and not just focus on the negative.

Borg alleges in the interview that threats were made against his family, which is not on I am fairly sure the EC stated it was a minority of fans and they gave a Chelmo official a chance to put their side and give their stewarding policy. The amount of coverage that Chelmo get out of the EC supposedly an Essex is an awful esp. as they never mention any other club
