im working in southend tomorrow and friday, could possibly end up staying in s'end so that i can make the game saturday.

 

how many/who is going to the game? and what time are you excepecting to be in southend?

Southend East is the nearest but thats on the Baso line...It's a fair hike from Southend Vic which is on the Ricay line. The bar there is not too bad for Essex Senior.

Try the Castle pub around the corner, I think there'll be a few in there and it has Sky.

Actually, SK must have some sort of attraction to the place...third time in two seasons since he's been with us...He must just like trips to the seaside.

Southend Vic is imo the best if travelling from Billericay. Yes, it is a walk, probably half hour but you can cram shopping and playing fruit machines and going on the fair ground rides along the way! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Joe, even the taxi drivers from the station did not expect a tip! Do not go into the pub by the station unless you like boring chain style quiet/no tv eateries. And do not wear hats/scarves/shirts or they will ask you to take them off !

I don't know about Taxi's Keith, our resident travel expert Mr Q says its a 10 minute walk from the station (you must be a lazy so and so!)

 

I'll probably fit right in down there as the Ricay fans I met last week will testify. All suited and booted I was like a wannabe club official! Boy did I look the part!

 

Can't be having no TV, especially with the North London derby on at midday, is there any other pub your could recommend or is it a straight to the club house job?? cheers!

Def hit the castle lads before the game as it is about a 10 minute walk from there to Manors ground.

Not sure, about other pubs. Guess clubhouse, but you may wanna check they will be open at 11.45 if you are getting there early.

Was hoping for the same thing,not going to the cricket but if the better side of North London win i'll be there for the 2nd half if not i'll see you all Hampton.

Also there is The Wellington nice pub 5 minutes away from the ground that's in the town that has Sky tv Stella on tap and a top Doris behind the bar.

 

Also has a Kentucky fried chicken opposite.

Better side? there's only one proper north london side, the other one is just squatting.
