John Lyall RIP

A true West Ham legend. He was the Hammers manager when I first got into football and started supporting West Ham.

Let's hope the team give him a fitting tribute on Sunday.

Absolutely right and as a Hammers fan who was there in 75 and 80 when we won the FA Cup, there would be no finer tribute to a true gentleman and top class manager (who was West Ham through and through) than for the club to beat Middlesbrough and win the cup for him this year.

RIP Johnny Lyall.

Top record. Two FA Cup wins, final of the European Cup Winners Cup in 1976, 2nd Division Championship and Hammers highest ever finish of 3rd in 1986, when if not for the fixture pile up that year, West Ham would probably have won the League Championship.

Very underated and a better record than most, Terry Venables for a start.
