A brilliant evenings entertainment - Austria weren't up to much & England left us on tenterhooks for most of the game by contriving every which way they could to miss their chances.

 

A scrappy 1st goal from a corner, after about 40 minutes, followed by 3 goals in the last 10 minutes.

 

I was left thinking "If only Mr Drury would play like that, watching Kelley Smith - so calm on the ball and precision passing. Her dribble along the byline past about 3 Austrian defenders, to lay on the second goal would have graced most mens games.

 

England's qualification for the World Cup in China next year will obviously depend on the results of their games against Holland at home and France away, but we certainly look to have enough quality to get there and to do well in the Finals.

 

Even if I'd had to pay - £5 for an adult and £2.50 for a child was still excellent value for money and given the quality of the football on offer certainly compared favourably with our entrance charges. I believe Groups of more than 15 got in for £1 each as well, so fantastic for local groups, etc.
