Fleet win game shocker

Lol. Really didn't expect us to get a win today so well done to the lads for proving us wrong. Two brilliant finishes from Johnson and Moore. Woking are now on par with Tamworth for the worst visitors to the Fleet this season. They were crap, must be to lose to us

To be fair, while it was a typical end-of-season encounter and quite drab for the most part, I thought we played competently, nobody really put a foot wrong, and they were two well-taken goals. And for once, it wasn't chuffing freezing.

Robbo why do you have to say they must have been crap to lose to us. I don't think they were crap - in fact I have seen us lose to worse sides than them. I think some of you expect to see the standard of football you see on television. It just isn't going to happen. Maybe I am easily pleased but I enjoyed the match and was pleasantly surprised by the win, which I think we deserved. I don't doubt one or two will be disappointed we won as they can't moan about losing again, but will have to resort to cynicism.

Well done boys.

Now, you can have a good old moan at me for voicing an opinion.

You should have pointed said idiot out to me...I was behind the goal...and could have had a quick word in his shell like ! I didn't hear the idiot.....perhaps he was the tea hut side of the goal whereas I was the food stall side !

Well done Luke !For a young lad forced to lead the line in the absence of all other recognised strikers....he did well.

I would apologise to all those whose weekend has been ruined by the victory.....but I am not going to !!

Cheers,

The "idiot" was behind the middle of the goal a guy in his 50's - 60's was constantly on Lukes back, pleased to see that Luke had the final word. In the end a group of three of four teens (not chavvy looking) in fleet shirts told him to shut up, quite funny really

Very well played, Fleet. Looked a lot more composed and balanced when down to 10 men. Really pleased for Luke, if that had been Charlie we would have said goal of the season!!

Thought the defence did really well, in particular young Glozier, who has improved 10 fold, good reading of the game and some good crosses.

Terrible crowd, though!

To be honest, I thought they were bad. The 4 games they've now lost in a row suggests they're suffering from end of season blues like us. We did play better today and of course I'm pleased we won. I was just surprised that we came up against such a lucklustre Woking side. It could of been very different if they'd of taken their chances though, of which they had many. Same could be said for us.

Many chances?

I dont remember Craig actually having a save to make until the 70th minute or so, when he made that brilliant stiff handed save above his head. A couple of opportunities for Woking early I know - one across the face & 1 blazed over the bar, but I dont recall much else. And I think they only had one corner all game following Craig's save late on.

Richards (conference top scorer at the moment?) had the chances realy early on which dint quite make it in. Score then and I reckon we would have looked a completely different side and maybe lost the game. As it was we survived, scored 2 goals and an enjoyable game. Good weather, good humoured crowd (well most people seemed happy) rather then everybody moaning.

Only sour point was the attendance

Just goes to show I'm not against left back wholesale - just when we have an entire squad of them.

And with Skins seemingly about to depart, danny does actually now seem to fit the bill as a reliable relacement, and a player who actually reads the game, tries to pass rthe ball and also is not afraid of going past the halfway line.

I thought Luke Moore had a good game, and was really cool when taking his goal. As for slagging Luke off, I was behind the goal in the second half and must have missed that piece of verbal garbage.

In the first half, I was most impressed by the way that Glozier played and found plenty of space.

But who supplied him with most of the accurate passes? the playmaker himself, Bobby Bowry, we mustn't underate Bowry, the lad works hard.

Little disapointed with Jukebox though (one of my favourite players), at times he seem to be disinterested, and gave up chasing 50/50 balls.

End of season blues I suppose.

It appeared to me, that in the second half, the Fleet were more robust in their tackles and were winning the loose balls more often than not.

I'm off now to get my next seasons rose tinted glasses from Specsavers

Criky Bill, I agree with almost everything... except I thought Drury worked quite hard and ran his sox off when he moved up front. I agree he didn't get a lot of change from their defence, but his run to the left off the ball dragged their defence far enough away to give young luke his run for the goal.

Surely such an analysis is a bit premature after one game?

You're right about Drury though - the idea that he doesn't work hard is a bit of a myth.
