Slough v Windsor match thread

It's the second time this season we've conceded to an opposing keeper from their own area. Last one was from Redbridge keeper, Sam Bird, in the league cup match against them back in November 05.

 

Dunno if that's a first for the record books?

Probably the most uninspiring 3-3 draw your likely to see - apart from the last 5 minutes - real end of season stuff. Still who cares, we are safe.

Looked a bigger crowd than the one given, tho i know of at least five people who stayed in stag till second half cos of no bar.

Probably because hardly anyone from Windsor bothered to turn up Chels. Needless to say, I hope the club are extremely disappointed with the gate and lessons will be learnt for next seasons derbies.

Dreadful game - we dropped to Windsor's level and defended woefully. Hodgey and G were good up front but lacked the service to really punish Windsor. Tilbury is shockingly bad - and was by far the worst defender I have seen at this level - unfortunately we didn't capitalise enough. Gareth should have switched to left wing and constantly attacked him.

 

We need to sort out the midfield - but I think a pairing of Mets and Alexis in the centre could work really well. I think if we are going to play 4-4-2 we need to sort out who is playing on the wings because Mason is no left winger although I thought he did pretty well.

Agree Martin, Leigh Mason has been near to the form he had at the end of last season, and pre-season this campaign.

 

That said though both he and Chopper (although do a decent enough job on the wings) are not wingers. Both central midfielders playing out of position IMO.

I thought Hodgey played well. He still went in for hard tackles, even with a broken/fractured toe.

 

The second half turned into a scene from the Key Stone Cops.

Mason has certainly looked better in recent weeks. Once again we see what a legend Hodgey is and how important he is to the team. He battles and plays bloodied and with a broken toe and still scores twice.
