28 Days Later

Went to see 28 Days Later at the cinema the other day. Not a bad little film, cool shots of London being deserted et cetra. Not for the faint of heart, but still I do recommend it.

I saw that film, me and my brother went to one of those preview screenings where they test the film out on an audience and we had to fill out some questionnaire, but we got free entry. I agree, it is a pretty cool film, my fave bit is when they're in the tunnel and you see all the rats running towards them and then the shadows on the walls of the zombies coming to get them! The critics have slated it though, especially Jonathan Ross...

I always rated Jonathan Ross, but I don't agree with his verdict on this one. OK so it wasn't the best movie ever made, and parts of it were stereotypical / over-the-top / too similar to many budget horror flicks (Evil Dead series springs to mind), and the part where Jim goes into the petrol station and you just know he's gonna be jumped upon by some zombie type fellow, but some parts of it were very good such as the aforementioned shots of a deserted London, the tunnel shot as described by Chubbhead, and the attack on the outpost thingy.

 

I've heard Bond is cr@p by the way.

Well I don't know about Bond, never really liked those films anyway, but I saw that Tripple X movie and although the stunts and stuff were good, it was a complete(ish) rip off of Bond-they even had a parachute that had the American flag on when released!

 

The best thing about 28 Days later is probably the way it's shot and the various 'treatments' used. I though Naomi Harris was particularly impressive and Cillian Murphy was particularly gorgeous! The thing that confused me was if those Zombies were really mad and really strong how come Cillian Murphy managed to survive for 28 days,unconscious, locked in a hospital room,strapped to a bed and protected only by a wooden door? eh!?

Because (I think)....when he goes into the church, the petrol station or the tower block for example, the zombies only moved / woke up when they heard noise.
