Post about EFC Chairman!!!

I read this post and told Steve word for word what was posted about him, and unless the person who posted on this forum says sorry for it he has told me to put on here he WILL be takeing action over it.

Not at one time did any person ask/approch him to go round the ground asking for money.

I know Steve very well and he would be man enough to ask a member of the Enfield Town board if a person could do so.

In takeing the post of this forum People have noted that it was wrong and out of order towards Steve Wittington.

I only hope the person who was quick enough too shoot his mouth off on here is quick enough too say sorry for the outburst on the forum.

From what i have read, no one at ETFC has acussed Steve of any wrong doing. It was the person who was illegally collecting money who said that Steve had given her permission.

Maybe you should try to concentrate your resources on tracking her down and taking action against her.

With all due respect, you should take a look at a thread which was created by someone under the alias of "Very Sad" on the Enfield FC forum. The person has made several libellous comments in the thread.

Unfortunately, the fact it was written on the Enfield FC forum, and has still not been deleted, means that Enfield FC themselves could potentially be in trouble.

I have been told who the young lady was and it is a shame that a game as big as yesterday's, with all the genuine fundraising activities, was spoilt by someone wanting to make a 'fast buck'.

I applaud everyone who put their hand in their pockets yesterday and handed over their hard earned cash.

Must say a big thanks to the blanket collection girls. By the time they got back to the tunnel, their blanket was nearly touching the ground!

Amazing at what lengths some people will go to to make a fast buck. It's just a shame there wasn't any police officers at the game (as obviously there was no need) as I'm sure they would've been very interested in speaking to her.

Guys/Gals - I spotted this female and as I knew of most things that were due to happen on saturday, but she was not on the list of activities approved by the ETFC board.

I asked the stewards and other ETFC board members if they knew what she was doing, no one knew what she was up to.

So i approached her, and her story was so weak myself and a steward invited her to leave the ground.

if anyone wants more details then please contact me directly.

The person known as SOFTIE(who is a known director of your club ) should make an apology as the post suggested that steve whittington was responsible . IN NO WAY WAS STEVE IN ANY WAY INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT . As a club that has been sued for libel not so very long ago the person who calls himself SOFTIE should know what a ridiculous statement it was and should apologise and I'm sure that would be the end of the matter. As for Very Sad I have no Idea who this person is and I dont think anyone else does . He /she is not a board member unlike your mr softie and is possibly an outsider AND WE HAVE HAD THOSE IN THE PAST HAVN'T WE. Can you imagine what would have happened if your friend at LEYTON had copped a statement like that ?? I'm sure steve would let this roll off his back if mr softie ate some humble pie. The post was well dodgy and has been removed .So someone at the Town had some good sence ....But not removed quick enough I'm afraid.

I'm sure an apology will be forthcoming.

I'm just glad the post was made on the "Not the ETFC" forum. With regard to "Very Sad" - he has since gone very quiet, but the thread he created still remains on the Enfield FC forum, which is, I believe, officially affiliated to the club.

But then again I don't know that for sure.

All this libel malarky is quite irritating.

Back to football please.

It is quite right I was furious at the suggestion that Mr Whittington had sanctioned such an action and I engaged mouth before opening brain. I allowed myself to be wound up by other matters taking place at Brimsdown throughout the day in the Downs Bar and I did not check the facts with Mr Whittington personally and for that I have wronged the gentleman and I apologise unreservedly. If Mr Whittington feels the need to sue me for libel that is his right and I understand.
