Yesterdays game and the big 3000

It was tense at times what with the offside goal and the dozen freekicks on the edge of the box Barkingside had but we weathered the storm and took the GBT home...

 

The first halfs atmosphere was fantastic, shame we split up in the second half. When we all got off the coach and 100+ Urchins from the coaches walked into the ground, the sea of red & white was amazing. In Danny Coweleys interview after the game he said how much we helped and it bought a tear to ones eye. If 450 odd can do that, lets take 600 down Grays and do it even better <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

 

There were somes stars on that pitch yesterday. Drakey had a good game, Burbridge when he came on, the two Coweleys, Bostock, King to name a few. I'd like to thank Jlo for such a fantastic season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

A few things stick in my mind from yesterday....

 

The number of Urchins in attendance (it made it like a home fixture),

The noise in the first half (well done Gooner for leading the singing, as usual!).

Mickey Collier kissing the badge on his shirt at the end,

Tree's megaphone,

Treeboys' 'singing' in the bar afterwards (quality!)

etc, etc

What a great day..... let's go absolutely mental at the League Cup Final in Grays!!! (Yeoman then train again like last time?) and bring along as many mates as you can.... the more the merrier!

nah thomson wants to get down to grays to sample their real ales,that is all he has been going on about,last year was quality in pub before and on train down to grays

we are doing a large chinese buffet for all who wish to indulge....our players and staff will be back at the club for 6ish and all fans are welcome...see other thread please...

just have,i like chinese,shame the one in burnham was shut last night after our urchin walk out of the local curry house for them insisting we all had 11.95 of food each or they wouldn't serve us(i wanted to stay coz i would of eating 20 quids worth)

we hit the indian on the main road just around the corner from the ground....superb food and we took the cup in with us and put it up on a stand in the corner with the flag and our scarves around it....

went past that on the way home this morning,it looked a lot nicer and more welcoming than the one we went in and they wanted 50 quid for the chair treeboy broke but only got a pack of fags,another quality tree moment!
