VIP day out to Braintree

I(Kevin) was lucky enough to purchase and win a half time raffle at a Slough Town FC fixture some months ago and opted for one of the draw envelopes. I could have chosen cash but picked an envelope which resulted in the afore mentioned VIP trip. I would like firstly to thank Bernard Devine the club chaiman who gave myself and my wife Joy a superb day out. Bernard picked us up at our home in his car and despite the vageries of the M25 and the volume of traffic got us to Braintree where we were treated to lunch before the game. Having enjoyed a pleasant lunch despite the garlic bread ( Bernard will know what I mean) we were light headed after a fantastic Glen Harris goal which gave Slough the half time lead.Unfortuanately that lead was not to last. I would like to thank Roy & Bernard for their hospitality at half time and after the game and feel priveliged to have been the recipient of this trip on my birthday. OK we lost the match but Slough Town is still the winner as Joy is thinking of coming to see the Windsor game.

Glad you and Joy had a good day on Friday Kevin, sounds as though you had a great time. Joy do come on Monday as you were giving great vocal support at the Braintree game, you can join us in the Stagg and Hounds before hand as I know a little red wine always helps.
