Tend to agree.

Zero -zero is a professional job.

better than a 2-2 draw.

Well done the defence.

If you don't concede, you don't lose.

38 nils nils and 4 wins a season give you 50 points and safety, and thats the foundation to work on.

Interesting that 2 games with 4-4-2 and we do not concede a goal, although in theory we have one fewer defender.

4 in defence and everyone has a specific job and responsibility and can't leave it to others .

An ok job today imo

Decent attendance i thought-hopefully some kind people will give us warts and all views on the game and player performances

A vital point that given other results surely guarantees us Ryman premier football next season. Well done the defence for the second match in a row (haven't said that before all season!)Looking forward to the derby games with Ramsgate as well (hopefully Dover can make it via play offs and if AFC Wimbledon stay down that will be 3 massive attendances). <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Fair result IMO, and I am happy with a point. You cannot fault Trott's start: 2 games against playoff-pushing sides and 4 points and no goals conceded from them. Defence looked very assured today, and Protheroe and Kesiter combination in midfield is a good one. All in all, a good point.

Id also like to point out that we are playing teams that are supposedly better than us re:higher in league. It gives me great hope for next matches againnst less opponents.

Hope we can get 9 points from remainder of season, that should see us well & truly safe

Safety is almost certain now: 7 points clear of Hendon with only 3 games left. We have Folkestone and Leyton away, before playing Hendon at home. They have to play Leyton and AFC Wimbledon at home (as well as us away). They need 9 points, and hope that we do not get more than 2. It's looking good for us now.

I also notice that the Ryman has the worst-placed team out of the Ryman, Northern and Southern Leagues now, as both Northwood and Wakefield-Emley have more points than Hendon.

Barring Hendon winning all 3 of their games including their game against us we are safe. I dont think thats an issue now. I thought today we had a good foundation in the defence & centre midfield. Just lacked a bit of composure and first touches could be better in some cases but positive as at least we are keeping things tight and very solid. Charlie made a couple of very good saves. It looks like we could do with three or four new signings in the summer. Centre back, centre mid, two wingers (one if Osman stays). And thats just the first 11. That is if we want to be getting out of this league. If we do then we need strengthening. With the players we have got it was a professional job today.

We neutralised the Worthing side and made them look very average.

Good job.

A bit of fine tuning to the last touch, and we could have had the points today, we certainly made the chances. Good attacks, and good to watch. At least Worthing try to play football, which made them worthy opponents.

Charlie Mitten outstanding.

I thought we were better then Worthing today and if anyone deserved to win it was us but a draw was a fair result. Our performance was not as good as last week and there was a lot of poor passing in promising positions. The defence were sound and dealt with pressure well. Midfeild at times were losing 50/50 balls but again they all played well over all. Hockton and Brayley had little to do today as they did not get much deliveries from the rest of the team. Brayley i thought worked harder today. All in all i am happy with the result.

very inspired watching the gate 2day . It was nice to see the team organizing themselves on the pitch , and to be in control of the midfield was a great thing to see , by the way Charlie Mitten today pretty much faultless outstanding save near the end of the game . so just 4 that save i give him my motm today, but there was 2-3 could have picked from.

Hope you dont mind but would prefer to keep private life away from the forum. Thanks for the welcome. Please dont take offence. Reading your post I thought Hockton performed well but Brayley has been poor for a few games now. Saying that he did have a few good flicks and turns but he needed to test the keeper more.

[color:"blue"]I'd agree we have the nucleus of a good team, personally I'd like to see Bertie in midfield .. he's struggling up front at the moment (his best form for us - away to Worthing, the two games against Fisher and away at Wimbledon saw him playing deeper than he's able to do at the moment). He's forced to play up front as we've released all our other strikers except Hockton (the decision to release Hillaire a few weeks ago was baffling).

For next season I'd like to see us sign a strong, determined defender (in the Warren Ryan/Sam Sodje mould).

Lee Protheroe (or someone similar), and a strike partner for Danny Hockton to give us twin striking options (like the Collins/Braithwaite .. Sykes/Buglione .. Collins/Sykes combos that gave us success in the past 10 years).

Peter perhaps Bertie should play left midfield with Sesay right midfield. The only problem is we dont have another top class striker then alongside Danny. Lawrence is not the answer. He looks lost up front.

Id like to see us get a powerful striker. Alan Tait from Canvey maybe. A central defender with a bit of pace too maybe also from Canvey. It really depends who takes the reins. I think it shows that we need somebody to take over who has good contacts in the Conference and not Jim Ward.
