Lack of Experience

In my opinion we lack a real leader on the pitch. After seeing us lose to Fisher and even the win yesterday, there is a lack of conviction about us.

 

Not to harp on about the Fisher game, they had two or three players who took the game by the scruff of its neck, for example by holding up the ball.

 

I am a fan of Jamie Dormer, however i don't feel he is vocal enough, Warren Ryan appears to be a big character and i think this is what we are really lacking to become a top team.

 

We have the youth and exuberance of that, but when we are trailing in games players go missing and it serves up to be pretty dire fair as the second half was yesterday.

 

I would like to congratulate the lads on the recent performances as they have put a lot of effort in and they deserve something for it!!!!

 

One final point, at the end of the Fisher game, i found it disappointing when Dave Collins 'fell' to the floor, there is no need for that and i thought we had always been different from the premier league when it comes to play acting. I see no need for it, and in my opinion summed up that night.

I think experience is something we've lacked throughout the season to be honest, going back to last summer when Justin replaced experienced players like Trott and Gallagher with kids like Dobson and Lay. Problem is that it's not easy to bring in experienced players mid season as for the most part they'll be on contract, and with most teams still having something to play for in Jan/Feb clubs are unwilling to release players.

 

I agree with you re Wozza, he was a big miss in the final, also think that Leon has taken on more of a leadership role this season.
