not playing dan brown

i really dont know why matt jones did not play dan brown last night he is the best centre back the club and against fisher you needed some one who has experiance and that was not swain. that was what lost you the game bad management. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

Disagree Lawman. Brown is a good centre-half but I think even if he had played the scoreline would've been the same. I'd have gone with Swaine as he playing well. The team as a whole didn't get going, no one individual is to blame.

i have been at every one of the last 10 billericay games and from what i have seen dan brown would of been able to deal with the fisher front line alot better then swaine and doormer did as he showed when they won 2-0 at fisher.

i agree with lawman which i said yesterday before the game. brown should be first choice with one other. why bring him in to sit him on the bench?

It may well have been but I see no point in pointing out individuals for criticism or a "we should've done that or this".

 

We lost, Fisher played better than we did, end of. Lets move on to bouncing back

I disagree with Lawman and thought that Swaine was the right choice for this game.

 

In my view the choice was always going to be between Swaine and Brown as Dormer was a cert to start as he IS an experienced player. Neither Swaine nor Brown are experienced players and in my opinion Swaine has looked a better player than Brown from what I have seen.

 

We also have to look further ahead towards next season and who our centre halves will be. We know one will be Swaine as he has signed. It's my view that he will provide cover for the "main" centre halves and continue to learn his trade. I would expect that Pat will be another providing a deal can be reached. This leaves room for one more (bearing in mind that Macca can also cover there). So this will either be Brown, Dormer or AN Other. My feeling is that Dorms is a reluctant centre half (although that's purely a guess) which means a choice between the other two options and for me an experienced AN Other is a better option than Brown.

 

Having said that with three league games and at least one champions league game to come this season I'm sure that Brown will get a couple of opportunities at least to demonstrate that he should get a permanent place. let's wait and see.

Completely agree with jl. So if I work it out smallsy, you started watching the team when Dan Brown arrived at New Lodge and you come from South Woodham Ferrers, where does Dan come from ?
