from a neutrals point of view

very poor performance from billericay last night, i was extremely dissapppointed.

i thought the youngster at the back had a bad game, great potential at 18 but very laid back and was no where to be seen when the goals were going in.

the goalkeeper had an absolute shocker although perhaps the 4th goal hit a bobble.

nathan elder is a superb player. i used to play with him and he has improved no end. great player.

the crowd behind the goal were magnificent and a credit to the club. well done to all.

thought fishers first goal was well worked, i think the fella nutmegged mcsweeney which was quite lucky but none of the back four there to help him out and the fella walked through to score.

2nd goal was a shambles

3rd goal was a cheeky finish, not sure about the offside shouts as i was sitting level but still tough call. the only argument we can have is that the lino was 15 yards behind play.

4th goal should have been saved but game was well over by then.

front 2 for fisher were class.

what do you all think?

Tom, I think Swaine was picked on the back of this last three performances. If you look at the thread where we all picked our starting line up he was everyones choice to start. He didnt play well, but he wasnt alone in that. I said after the wimbledon game that no one in our back four was taking charge of the defence and it happened again. Compare that to Mark Warren, Fishers number 5, who last night controlled his defence.

yeah i can totally understand why he was picked, i just thought the expierience and game itself would of favoured brown,

I think swaine and dormer are very similar defenders in style as they both look to play football and are very relaxed, i think brown is probably stronger more of a no nosense sort of defender,

I would like to point out that some people have been saying that Fisher players were chanting about the result. Having spoken to the management, i can catergorically deny that any such comments were made. The result was obviously pleasing , but the club have a great respect for their Essex counterparts and would not stoop so low as to gloat over the result. We know this because football has a horrible way of coming back and biting you on the bum!!

In all fairness I don't see Danny as being that much more experienced than Rob - before he pitched up at Basingstoke earlier in the season he hadn't played a great deal of first team footie at any of his previous clubs and he is still very young as well.

brown was playing for wycombe wanderers and had a pro contract! then he was at basingstoke in the conference south where he contributed to them avoiding relegation before leaving to come billericay as it was more local for him.

i agree with comments to single out swaine is harsh but he had some bad moments where his age showed and perhaps a more experienced head would have helped him through the game.

dormer is not a centre half in my opinion.

I've a feeling that rumour was started in the Mid-Essex area, namely Squattersville!

He didn't play much first team football for Wycombe and 13 games for Basingstoke hardly constitutes a wealth of experience. I doubt he's played 50 first team games in his career so he's not particularly experienced. He'll get his chance against either Harrow or Redbridge (or both), so it's up to him to stake his claim. On the subject of centre backs generally, don't forget we're also missing Pat who was player of the year last season!

well from what im aware of he was in the wycombe squad on a handful of occasions inc an FA cup tie vs villa! im sure he could handle the ryman prem.

brown is a must for fridays game.

I would agree with you there Ryan...They do like to stir it. I suppose it's too hard to look at their own short comings

As for the team performance, I think it is harsh to point out individuals. The team can play much better than that but they didn't. It's unfair to point out an individual...They all were disapointed last night and we are not interested in a "blame" game.
