The way foreward

Went to the meeting last night and was quite pleased with the overall outlook especially Trotty's attitude. I have a hunch he will be a good manager and lets face it, if all 11 players on the field play with his mentality, drive and determination we should walk this league. He wants his players to play with a smile on their faces, maybe we should do the same as supporters. I would like to see the club start to introduce a few local lads though because they inject a bit of pride into the team. There's nothing like playing for your home town club.

I like his attitude too, particularly about having a smile on the players faces, and enjoying the football.

Sometimes when we are all squabbling away on here, or the nasty rumours start up about the ground, I think we need a dose of happiness too.

Going to the games, and talking about them before or after on here is a big part of my leisure interest. I would like to enjoy that a tad more than maybe I have of late.

Bring on some fun!

I think we should all find some room for positivity after last night's meeting and this should be carried over to Saturday's game. Lets face it this club is a real force when everyone is positive and Hartsdown is rocking. Lets get back to the good times together.

[color:"blue"]Whilst I agree with the sentiment of using more local players, there has to be a sense of realism. What is meant by 'local' - Thanet, Easr Kent, Kent?

If you're talking Thanet & there aren't players left who reach the Ryman Premier standard, do you expect the Club to sign someone as a nominal gesture?

Let the Manager pick his team to represent Margate wherever they come from.

I spoke to CK about a couple of local youngsters, one of whom scores week in week out for fun. I asked him about a trial, he agreed and said bring them along to talk and he would arrange a few training sessions with the 1st team. What happened, they couldn't be bothered to even turn up. Its OK being good but you have to be prepared to prove it. If you have some one Tony get him to come along on Saturday.

YES there will be a reserve side. Ken Tomlinson stated he was talking to the Kent League.
