Just an Idea

Recommended Posts

I imagine players will have to leave and it means the fans will have to rally round," he told BBC Essex

with what Jeff said in his interview, it got me thinking,

what if we set up a supporters trust, in which each supporter donates around £20-£30 a month via standing order etc to help run the club, which will then also entitle them to a 25% discount on a season ticket. Just think if over 30 fans etc could do this how much money the club will make and hopefully able to stay in the conference.

Okay, crazy idea time.

As a community thing, 40,000 people on the Island x £10 = £400,000, which should just about pay what is going in now with all the extras like away fans money, programmes, burgers, beers 50/50 etc.

The club then would be self funding so for each £10 put in, the payer gets to see 5 free home games.

We won’t get 40,000 people from the island to put in a tenner, but could this not be extended to other areas in Castle Point. Certainly for those wanting to see 5 games just for £2 a time is worth considering.

Maybe we are still small enough that it could be funded this way. Would certainly fill the place as well.

Some good ideas there. Keep them coming.

I like the idea of paying £10 for five games or something ridiculous like that, but I can't see too many people willing to sacrifice £30 a month for a football club... I would and I'm sure many on here would, but other regulars? I doubt it.

There's no doubt about it, if it comes to the situation where fund raising is needed, the people on here are going to be key players in this. Keep the ideas coming thick and fast.

One idea I had was to WALK from Park Lane to Dagenham on Monday. Could collect before at Kiddy and then if Dagenham allow around their ground at the match. Would need to leave at about 5am to get there in time as it's a fair old trek (27 miles), but that would really create awareness as to the lengths we are prepared.

Anyone up for it? It would be a massive commitment but what a feeling it would be turning up there after walking a marathon for the cause.

i have had another brain storm, hows about we ask one of the local petrol stations that for every £30 spent on petrol/diesel, they put £1 into the supporters trust, they would have to run it for a month or so, but still that still should get us a couple of grand in the bank, and if it takes off we could rotate every month to all local petrol stations so that they would reap the benefits of all loyal supporters using their pumps
