MISA meeting

The stadium plans look very impressive and were sent to TDC on the 20th February. The club are now waiting for planning permission to start building. The club has planning permission to move the pitch 90 degrees. KP said if the club gets planning permission by the middle of May work will commence and we will have a ground ready in time for the new season buy it will be a very basic ground until stands get built. If we get planning permission later then middle May then we will be playing with what we have got now. So according to the club we will be at HDP next season and we will not be groundsharing. The finances are in place for the stadium as the business partners will be paying for the stadium. The clubs future was never in the question.

The playing squad seem to be much happier and are enjoying themselves at the club now. KP said the same as what he did in the local paper about the reason to why they sacked CK. Finnally the the board will let the new manager know about the players CK lined up and it will be up to them whether or not the pursue their interest in them.

All in all a very positive meeting.

Cheers for the report Alex. I need to see the plans to believe that theyve been handed in though. Also I find it hard to believe that the power to amend planning approval is given to the Cabinet of TDC as Im certain the application did not go back before Full Council for amendment as I would have expected it to have.

15 applications already for managers job. 12 including CVs and 3 by phone I think KP said. All these despite the vacancy not being advertised yet even. Will be advertised in a couple of weeks. The board are waiting until the end of the season and will then read all the applications. RT would love it at the moment but wants to continue playing as he says he still has another 2 or 3 years left in him and he runs his own business so I guess he needs to make sure he can devote enough time to that and managing if he does take it. Needs to weigh things up. Phase 1 will take 6-9 months ie building of the football stadium and alongside that the 6 fiveaside pitches on the nursery site. Similar type structure to that seen at Westwood cross so would go up quickly. Down both sides will be seating (covered). Both ends will be covered terracing. Pitch turned 90 degrees. End nearest Hartsdown leisure centre will be for away fans when segregation is needed plus a small section of the "Coffin side" seating stand.

Planning officers very impressed with the plans and say that there should be no problems. They say the plans are BETTER than the already approved plans last summer. The club is giving back 1 and a half acres from the original boundaries agreed with the council. Club very hopeful that it will be treated as an ammendment (in which case May start should be fine) and not a fresh case. Board have set themselves a deadline sometime in May (mid May I think was said) for saying that they need to have started work. We will be playing at Hartsdown next season either in a nearly built stadium going up as the season progresses (although with safety certificate) or as the stadium stands AS IS now if May deadline is not achieved (ie if council refuse to allow the driving school to be an amendment). However I am hopeful that with land being given BACK & planning officers impressed that it should be treated as an amendment only.

Driving school company are covering the entire cost of the build. Heads of terms have been agreed with driving school. What does need to be agreed is a final date that they want to move into the site by.

Good summary GW however I never heard that bit about having 15 applicants already for the job. As far as I heard & I was quite close & listening carefully they said, as you said that they wont be making any decision on the managers job until after this season has finished. The job, also as you say, hasnt been advertised yet.Never heard mention of those 15 applicants you mention. They also said that the manager would probably be part-time.However your detailed inclusion of this leads me to believe I must have missed that bit after all.So apologies if I did & for bringing this up,if that be the case.

Terrific attendance of 87 (my headcount)all inclusive.

Together with RT,JK & BE there was Gordon Wallis chairing the meeting and KP plus 4 other directors in attendance all answering questions.

New plans were on show for all to see.Impressive too.Can someone who knows where to go look up & see if they are mentioned anywhere on the TDC site.

As mentioned above groundshare will not come into it UNLESS the contracters feel that a particular game, whilst work is undergoing would not bring about a safety certificate,i.e. not safe enough on that day to allow the public to watch the game in safety. KP stressed that this would only be a last resort & that in his view a groundshare if at all would probably be at Southwood. He did stress though that this IS only a last resort & if so would probably only affect the odd game if at all.

I would like to say that though its probable we may have to wait yet another season for the build at least this time we are waiting at HOME here at Hartsdown Park rather than having no place to go or travelling away to far off places to play games.

The club when they submitted the plans also paid the council the fees apropiate for doing so of £19,000 up front.

Bill Edwards is very keen to remain though he realises this isnt his decision to make & he fully understannds the way football goes what with changing personnel at close season etc.His testimomial WILL happen but because of the impending SYKO CHALLENGE it has been put on the back burner for now. Bill hopes to get West Ham down here for that testimonial as that is his first choice but as yet nothing has been arranged with anyone because of the reason stated above..

A youth officer will be in place within the next couple of months.

Robin Trott says he is more than happy with the players here and that to see the smile back on their faces is a massive lift to us all and to the teams confidence.Reading between the lines Sesay may well get more outings, more than before. Lets hope so.As will any player that signs, whereas before,as we all know many were just left to stew on the bench before being drafted into the squad for a particular match. Sounds like "if they are good enough they will be worth inclusion".

Trotty,as he likes to be called seems very up for the post and giving the captaincy to Protheroe was not a bad reflection on Brayley in any way but he just felt that the captain should captain the game from midfield or further back and not from a forward. He reckons it gets much much more from the players doing it this way.A good move and makes sense i.m.o.

Yes,yet again a long post. How could I possibly do other & let you all down.

KP did say there were 15 applicants and then also said something about 3 by phone. He mentioned something about the applicants have handed in CVs. I think he said 12 have handed in CVs and then he definitely said he has not looked at the CVs yet and is waiting another couple of weeks.

Hornet it all depends how far we are by the middle of May.

Stadium naming rights will be sold off. Stands will be named by supporters. Almer Hall stand and Chris Kinnear stand were suggestions.

That was completely missed out last night. Nobody actually asked what would happen ie would development partners pull out if we want to wait another year. After all if driving school were made to wait another year and they pulled out then there would be no need to turn the pitch 90 degrees. Although I suppose you could say it was covered when the board said that they are finalising a date that driving school operator has to be in by. This could include the contingency plan of delivering the project a year later.

It really all rests with council to decide whether or not it is classed as an amendment rather than a fresh application. If it is an amendment I think we could be there.

Just to add to Cookies post which triggered my memory -KP spoke to the youth officer yesterday and it is still the same person as he has had in mind all along. He will be in place as Cookie says in time for the summer. Also KT confirmed there will be a reserve team next year but they are not certain which league they will enter at the moment. It depends on the restructuring.

Apologies GW as I obviously missed the bit about applicants. Not mportant anyway either way at this stage. RT should be given first crack at it i.m.o. Lets face it he hasnt done bad after just one game has he.If he can produce the goods for the remainig games then I think his chances of getting the job will have quadrupled. Though of course this is an obvious statement to make.He seems to have the fire & belief in his belly & that is a very big plus side.(no disrespect to CK intended here) but as all the players up there last night mentioned,we have to accept what has happened and just move on.Lets hope we can all do so too.The players have done it and accepted what has happened. They all all,we were told, feeling more confident now and so should we, the fans feel and treat the situation in the same manner.

RT will try & rid any players of any "fear factor" that may have or could be a stumbling block in getting results & preventing them from showing their true worth out there on the pitch.
