The Folkestone site actually says he asked to be released, and that Tuesday nights game against Dartford, was intended to be his last game for them.

Incidentally, the Folkestone site also says they need £30000 to survive past Xmas, and another £40000 on top of gate receipts, up to the end of the season. Sounds like a real problem for them.

According to the response I received to my question "Why did he ask to be released?", it appears he asked to be released, simply because he didnt like losing! I suspect there was probably more to it than that but if not, it doesnt make him look too clever, does it? Such a shame when he obviously has ability and had improved his game enormously with us previously.

And someone on the Folkestone board claims to be a pro scout, who had been watching him as well, so if that was the case, he may just have blown the possibility of making something of himself as well (again, probably unlikely, but who knows?)

The board also now says he'll be back at Stonebridge Road again - but dont get excited - apparently he's signed for Dartford !(although this is not confirmed on the Darts site)

I actually cant think of anyone who Andy has let go who has gone on to achieve similar things or better at another club. Think it proves that when Andy lets a player go he's always right....What players that have gone can we say can really add something to the current team??? Apart from Bullard, but we sold him.

Andy Kearns and Glen Billiness went on to become high-ranking members of the Al-Qaeda organisation I do believe...
