Good news

Gen Kimmitt, Centcom's deputy director of plans and strategy, told BBC News: "Even if Iraq stabilised tomorrow the Long War would continue."

B-b-b-ut General. Surely Iraq 'stabilised' after the coalition invaded and prevented Saddam from using the Weapons of Mass Distraction that could be deployed in 45 minutes, thus freeing the world from the very real threat of International terrorism, and as by-product, bringing democracy and freedom from oppresion and peace to the people of Iraq.

The world is a safer place. Surely. Isn't it? Someone?

No 'fraid not - it's as scary as its always been

If it's not Napoleon, it's Hitler etc - always some power crazed nutter willing to f*ck it up for everyone else.

Phew I feel better for that - nurse the screens ...........!

But in history CS, the 'power crazed nutter' was always wearing a black hat, and we good guys with white hats would answer the call to arms in order to keep the world free from tyranny etc. etc.

Now, in their own way, the lunatics at Number 10 and at 1006 Pennsylvania Avenue are the power crazed nutters.

AFF - my point exactly !

In the sixties and seventies for a short while we thought the white hats would win. But it was all just a dream

However I am sure the milk of human kindness will be flowing at the Wessex Stadium Easter Monday - or maybe not
