Jeffs comment on the issue from the bbc

I can't see Jeff being the club manager if he has pulled out his money..

He will probably get a job at the same sort of level as we are now..

Although i feel Glen Penyfather is the real brains of our style of football.

You just had to be at the Grays game at New Year to know that. Pennyfather and Brian Horne managing the team would definately suit me fine.

Glen Pennyfather in charge is a great shout but we couldn't afford his wages.. There is no doubt he will get other offers from club @ conference level

Maybe John Batch the reserve team manager would be intereted if we do have to start again from the Essex Senior league, John is Canvey through and through!

Another article on the BBC site...

King fears his players will leave

Canvey Island manager Jeff King says players will have to leave so the club can become self-supporting.

King is scaling down his investment after bank rolling the club's rise from the Essex Senior League to the top level of non-league football.

"I imagine players will have to leave and it means the fans will have to rally round," he told BBC Radio Essex.

"We're the 15th ranked non-league club in the country and I don't think people appreciate what we've achieved."

"They don't understand what it takes to compete with the likes of Hereford and Exeter," King continued.

"It's been heartrending to make this decision and I've made lots of good friends.

"I'm not giving the club away but it remains to be seen how much longer I'll be associated, but I'll help it as much as other people do."
